equinoxEDU: Spotlight on New Angular Interface for Evergreen Reports

Terms:

  • Angular – A framework or language that is used to build web tools.
  • Clone – To copy or duplicate something. Allows the user to make changes to a template or report definition while leaving the original unchanged.
  • Grids – A table-like display of information in Evergreen.?
  • Join – A way for the Reporter to output information from two different database tables. The type of join will determine which information is included in the output.
  • Nullability/Nullable - The way Evergreen handles the inclusion of NULL data values (table fields with no data).
  • UI – An abbreviation for user interface. The user interface is the part of the system that the user sees and works.


Highlights:

  • Thank you to King County Library System for funding this development work
  • General Interface Changes:
  • Improved navigation and functionality
  • Searching that is sortable (!) and and shows information such as folder location.

  • Templates:
  • Better breadcrumbs for source path and field name on selected display fields,
  • View all reports that were created using a template, even by other users
  • UI features pulled from simple reports
  • Added tab for output/sort order
