The Equation of Success
We all have things that we are believing for, dreams that we want to accomplish, problems we’re hoping we’ll turn around. But sometimes as it goes on month after month even year after year, we don’t see anything changing. It’s easy to get discouraged and think “it’s never going to happen”,” this is as good as it gets”,” I will just learn to live with”. We all go through disappointments, setbacks, loss. Pain is a part of life. It’s easy to get discouraged. Every victorious person has felt the urge to quit. To give up on their dream.
“It’s going to be hard, but hard does not mean impossible”
The key is what we do in our times of pain, every painful time even though you don’t like it it’s developing something in you that can only be developed in the tough times. If you’re doing something eight hours a day that you don’t like, that it’s not giving you what you want, that it’s not giving you a strong feeling of satisfaction and fulfilment. If that’s what it is, you own to yourself a new start specifically working to change directions.
“A river cuts through rock, not because of its power, but because of its persistence” -Jim Watkins
Most people will resist change, most people will fight change as if change would be worse than what they’re experiencing. Most people will not challenge the unknown.
The activity you’re most avoiding contains your biggest opportunity.
If your equation is Money = Salary earned from a job then you have wrong equation.
Let’s assume that you earned 20€/hr and you work 40 hours per week. It will take you 25 years to reach a total of 1.000.000€ but this without subtracting, any taxes, or any expenses that you will incur over 25 years. The reality is that on a salary of 20€/hr you can only be a millionaire at an old age by living frugally. So how there are self-made millionaires and billionaires at that such young ages?
The truth is that they have a better equation
First step, STOP CHASING MONEY. You are paid in proportion to your perceived value you have in the market. Some people complain that football players are overpaid, but for players to be paid millions there has to be a market for the football industry in the first place. People have to see the value in football to want to spend money on matches and if the market has high demand for football then the players of this game paid generously. It’s not about how hard you work. The cleaner that sweating and tiring himself out every day is paid far less than the accountant sitting behind a desk. Because the market perceives the value of what the cleaner does to be far less than the accountant. As harsh as it may sound the cleaner can be replaced by anybody. It isn’t difficult to learn how to do his job therefore the market will not pay him more than the accountant.
Then how can we increase value, what is it about people like Jeff Bezos that makes their perceived value so high?
If you want money solve problems. If it solves a problem money will be thrown at it. If it’s a million Euros problem, then the solution will make you millionaire. Think about all the problems that sites like amazon solves. The hassle of going to a store, the hassle of having to wait weeks for a delivery, cheaper prices and so on. Jeff Bezos helped solve a billion Euros problem and that’s why he we awarded favourably for doing so.
It sounds paradoxical but if you want money it isn’t money that you should be looking for. You should be looking for problems and more importantly solutions to those problems.
"If you need inspiring words, you should not do it." - Elon Musk
I never saw a part-time high-performance person.
Working at your job is not how you become a millionaire. That’s a trap. This is the biggest thing actually, that is holding you back from being rich. To reach the status of millionaire, you need to reach millions of Euros. To reach millions of Euros you need to start doing something radically different in your life. Most people can’t do that, because their psychology won’t permit them. It’s their mindsets. It’s not even so much about the work they’re doing out in the world.
A millionaire does the same kind of work that a non-millionaire does, except that a millionaire has a whole different slew of mindsets and habits and practices that are completely night and day from what the average person is doing with their life.
If you’re coming from a middle-class background, or a lower middle-class background, or even poverty, if you’re coming from a place where millions of Euros seem like “Oh my God, that’s amazing…” It’s impossible to even dream of that! If you’re coming from that kind of place, you’re going to need radical self-growth to become a millionaire.
“If you think you are too small to make a difference, try to sleeping with a mosquito” -Dalai Lama
The reason you’re not a millionaire, and the reason you’re never going to become a millionaire, doing what you’re doing right now, is because basically you’re not resourceful enough. Your psychology is not going to permit you to do it. You have too many limiting beliefs. You have too much social conditioning. You have a groove you’ve set yourself in financially and in other ways. You cannot be a victim and be a millionaire at the same time. You have to choose one or the other. Most people are not millionaires simply for this reason, because they cast themselves as victims. They don’t take full responsibility.
You have to work on every one of those parts of your life in order to raise yourself up. You’re going to have to work really hard on yourself.
This is where people make mistake, they think they’re going to work really hard on their job, they’re going to work really hard on their career, and then that’s going to produce millions of Euros.
Working at your job harder is not how you become a millionaire. That’s a trap.
I’m not saying you should quit your job right now. Just realise, to become a millionaire, it’s going to take a lot more. It’s the mindset. It’s not the external circumstances. It’s the inside, here you have this little subconscious thermostat level, which has you pegged somewhere.
Either way, you have to become self-employed. This is another reason why most people will never become millionaires. They are just too afraid to leave their job, and they’re to afraid to face the risk of not having money to pay the bills.
When you’re self-employed, you quickly realise that it doesn’t work that way. When you’re self-employed It’s all about value. How much value can you give the other person. You’re going to have to start to worry about legal issues, marketing issues, logistical problems, employment problems. All these sorts of business issues, all of them come into play. You have to worry about economics and paychecks. That’s stuff you have to worry about on top of whatever work you’re doing. That’s all added on top of the workload you’ve already got.
“Life begins at the end of your comfort zone” -Neale Donald Walsch
It can be really challenging going through that stuff. That’s why most people will never do it. The upside is that if you do it, then you can position yourself very nicely to be earning a lot more than you would have if you had been working at that nine-to-five. Right now, if you’re working a nine-to-five, and you have a dream of becoming a millionaire, you have to start asking yourself “How do I make the transition?” Start to look for different strategies and techniques that you can use, opportunities you can use to start to move yourself out of that.
You have to start keeping an eye out for it. Your nine-to-five is not going to do it for you. You’re not going to become a millionaire by doing something that’s low value. High value means high return. Low value – low return. That means if you’re creating a product or a service, or you’re writing a book, or you’re performing at a concert, or whatever your line of work is that has to have big influence on a large number of people. The more people you can influence with your work, and the more powerful your work is, the more people love your work , the more remarkable your work is , the more chances you have of generating that massive value you need in order to change people enough of money to be getting millions of dollars back in return.
This is tried and true principle of wealth building. Value equals wealth.
As a millionaire, your eye is always going to be on value. How do you create more value for the world. How do you create more value for a customer base, for your fun base. That’s what you’ve got to work towards. That’s what you have to think about when you’re an entrepreneur. If you’re very serious about becoming a millionaire, then you have to adopt all these ideas. You have to go out and find even more. You have to take this, you have to embody it, you have to start live it. You have to start to work on yourself and transition yourself out of your job into a business.
