Equality or Inequality?

Equality or Inequality?

What is the bigger problem, I've often wondered -- Equality or providing a fair chance to people who are talented?

Unapologetically, I want to say that I do not seek a title, promotion, job, opportunity, chance, space, or rank simply because I am a WOMAN. For men who are equally skilled or even far more, I want a fair and equal chance.

I remember being asked to express my thoughts on "why women are not getting equal opportunities in corporates" during my time at my second job (2018, New Delhi). My response was fair and equitable as it appears right now. Why does just being female make us entitled to something? Let's develop our skills first, and if the world treats us unfairly, let's challenge that. I firmly believe that women should receive what they are due, but I oppose being given a chance simply because you are a woman. Although being a feminist, I cannot endorse one gender above another when it comes to aptitude or competence.

Let's respect the other gender with fairness and equality as well. Don't undermine the masculine brilliance in the name of gender by pursuing 50% equality.

All of the people's efforts and skills have contributed to the society's growth and development thus far. The same MERIT should underpin all forms of discrimination in corporate or governmental employment, including those based on caste, creed, ethnicity, gender, age, etc. Don't let something else be improved at the expense of MERIT. Can't we just address this issue from the outset, starting, origin, or birth?

It was frequently remarked on Shark Tank India that I want to invest in you because you are a WOMEN entrepreneur. The query is, what? why? Does it not appear unfair? We shouldn't view being a woman as a crown to be worn.

When we were growing up, my brother and I received the same treatment. Can't we emphasize such a fundamental point?

Happy Belated International Women's Day.

I love it! Especially on "Let's develop our skills first, and if the world treats us unfairly, let's challenge that." Reflecting on Singapore's meritocracy system in our education for example, everyone has an equal and fair chance for rewards and such as long as you prove that you can perform academically, irregardless of race and religion, you'll have the opportunities. Same to your article, gender shouldn't be a demographic factor that deprives women of rewards and opportunities, but rather who's the most capable contender in the arena.
