What matters in the world of epoxy flooring these days? With polymer flooring manufacturers popping up like never before, its buyer beware. The last time I looked, there were between 30-40 manufacturers + that claim they have the best product and a twenty-year warranty. I'd like you to continue reading to understand better how the epoxy floor business and cardiothoracic surgeons are similar.
What's more important, the hospital ( aka epoxy floor manufacturer) or the operating surgeon? What's more important, the product or the installation team installing the product? Below is a comment from a patient regarding a hospital versus a surgeon.
However, if I had an outstanding doctor who knew what he was doing (about treatment or a medical procedure), it wouldn't matter what hospital I was at because the doctor would have taken all precautions ahead of time and would know exactly what he was doing … Even if there were complications during the procedure, I would be much more confident that the doctor would know what to do if that happened without causing more problems.
Architects, end users, general contractors, etc., must focus on the application team and the QC control to succeed. Epoxy flooring products are a commodity. A prospective customer, architect, or general contractor is buying the surgeon-application team and the correct floor system recommendation that will meet the customer's long-term needs.

I am amazed when customers say I am getting three or four bids and are selecting the lowest-priced option. When they buy tires for their truck, do they purchase the least expensive tires and expect them to last like the costly tires? Other factors that impact the selection of flooring contractors include completing time-critical shutdown applications, MOD rates, and having the resources to work in restrictive manufacturing environments.
Customers need to be educated on the importance of the application crew and the QC management plan, and they need to be educated less about the products. What would be more critical a fancy hospital or the surgeon doing the operation.
