ePostcard #4: Spanish Tales & Herbal Remedies

Dear Reader,

Last week brought a refreshing change of pace as we welcomed a friend visiting from Madrid. It served as the perfect excuse to take a much-needed day off and indulge in some leisure time, a luxury we hadn't enjoyed in quite a while. With the weather on our side, we seized the opportunity to showcase our city to our guest. One of the highlights of our tour was a visit to the Casa de Cervantes, the former home of the legendary Miguel Cervantes.

Let us share an interesting tidbit about the Spanish language: Spanish traces its roots back to Latin, the language spoken by the Roman Empire. Over time, it evolved through the influence of various cultures and languages, including those of the Visigoths, Moors, Arabs, Hebrews, and others who have left their mark on the Spanish peninsula throughout history.

Cervantes, hailed as the "father of Spanish literature," with his masterpiece, "Don Quijote," left a significant mark that shaped the Spanish language we speak today.

In addition to this fascinating fact, we wanted to share a valuable lesson we've learned over the years, particularly in our work with clients. Despite having all the solutions right in front of us, we often find ourselves struggling to take action. It's as if our minds are willing, but our bodies hit the brakes. Sound familiar? Indeed, it's a common challenge we all face. Whether it's learning a new language or skill, or embarking on a journey to improve our health and wellness, there are no more excuses, especially in this age of accessibility where everything is just a click away. However, our bodies tend to crave routine and comfort, making change a tough sell. But here's the thing: recognizing this resistance is the first step to overcoming it. If you find it difficult to break free from this shackle, get an accountability buddy or announce it to the world! Once you liberate your mind from the grip of your body, you'll emerge as a new and improved version of yourself, ready to embrace the life of your dreams with open arms.

So, our message to you in today's newsletter is simple yet powerful: break free from the grip your body has on your mind and take action. Remember, change might be uncomfortable, but it's where the magic happens.

?? In Tune with Nature: Juhi's Herbal Insights ??

Are you suffering from spring allergies? Cough, colds, wheezing, nasal congestion, sneezing, asthma, water retention, itchy and watery eyes, and fatigue are some symptoms you could suffer from. But at the end of the day, looking at the root causes can pave the way for you that’s more sustainable and reparative for your body. This includes assessing your digestive health, immunity, and of course respiratory system as well.

?? My tidbit on this one has to be Ayurvedic Nasya oil for clearing the nasal passages which have been inflamed with mucus, thus calming and thinning the mucus is what we desire here.

Additionally, you could also drink a lovely tea blend made up of equal parts of:

  • Ginger rhizome
  • Turmeric rhizome
  • Pippali fruit or black peppercorns

Blend them and take 1/4-1/2 tsp in 1 cup (0.24 liters) of water boiled for 15 mins and let it stand for another 15 mins at least 3x/day.

Start low and slow with the dose, and increase gradually if sensitive to spices.

But herbs of this nature will stimulate your digestive fire and help thin and expel excess mucus. Especially, helpful in cases of hay fever where watery eyes and sinus congestion are present. ??

?? Bonus Episode: Guided Meditation Session for Emotional Release ??

And the last thing you'd want is for suppressed emotions to shape your health & destiny. So, I invite you all to join me for a live guided meditation session focused on emotional release. April 23rd was also the day my mom ascended & to mark this day as one of transformation rather than dwelling on negativity (after all, death does not extinguish consciousness, it merely transitions), I would like to dedicate this day to her. Before starting the meditation, find a quiet and comfortable space where you won't be disturbed. Consider using headphones for an immersive experience, allowing you to fully engage with the soothing sounds and guidance. Take a moment to disconnect from distractions and create a peaceful environment conducive to relaxation and introspection.
