Adarsh & Sanjay were colleagues with identical experience.
Both were working in the same team, Adarsh was more outgoing & open in his approach while Sanjay was more of an introvert but carried better work knowledge than Adarsh.
Sanjay was more of the hardworking type who believed in finding solutions on his own, getting his hands dirty & figuring out things without taking anyone’s assistance.
It helped him better his skills.
On the other hand, Adarsh would network better & find solutions faster, get them executed quickly with the help of his subordinates.
Now comes the appraisal time, both individuals get rated, however Adarsh takes a better rating.
Adarsh & Sanjay are characters we encounter in a corporate space every time.
One of the things I could have changed if I could go back would be this.
I originally love to work in silos, I felt that enhanced my productivity.
If I were to look at my achievements, there was one person or the other who has impacted me in a good or a bad way.
Though I am an introvert, the messages and learning shared by my acquaintances and actions taken based on them have definitely shaped me as a person.

Even in the corporate space it is quite commonly observed that asking for help is looked at in dim light, hence I see individuals look around before even speaking to someone.
In today’s age information is available easily, rather information is aplenty.
Let's take an example you are given a task that is new, but there are people in the team who have some knowledge in it, wouldn’t you be consuming more time into delivering that activity if you were doing it all on your own?
Networking is required to get you connected with individuals who will be there to take you a long way.
Like the saying goes, If you want to move fast , then walk alone however if you want to move far walk together.
Think about those times when you were afraid to ask someone for help just because you felt an obligation to them when in reality that help could have actually taken you far without much effort.
These are excerpts from the book which I’m presently penning.
Do watch this space for more to come.
