Just tell me your story
?? Once upon a time we were being told about every 5 minutes that story telling was so important in our marketing.
?? Everyone posted posts about the power of telling a brand story, a personal story, anything to give your marketing some context. Did this suddenly stop being a thing.
?? Personal Branding became the new flag to wave and we got lost in the less tangible aspects of what we represent and how the buyer buys into this before they buy what we sell.
?? Theory took over from substance and I think it's time we regained the personal and story telling and started telling, as in speaking, as in using our voice to tell our stories.
?? Personal Standing and how we got to where we are, some of the white water along with the woke up and became famous stuff, some gritty reality
?? Why not add a voice recording of your story to your profile?
?? Links in your ABOUT section are live on many mobile devices, more people access LinkedIn from these than desktops these days.

?? How good would that be? Stand out, be a bit different from the pack.
?? Humanise your profile, entwine the listener into your world, evoke some emotion by getting your voice to convey who you are and not your keyboard.
?? We are not connected until we've communicated, voices fast track that process and shorten the distance between two people. Build that fabled trust and add some texture with the very thing that announced your arrival on this planet, your voice.

2 年Absolutely in agreement with all you say here, Angus. The human voice telling stories is an age-old way to connect people, but so few people use it on their LinkedIn Profiles. (All of this reminds me that I need to give more prominence to my Soundcloud recordings on my profile!)
