Episode 24: The Heart of Black Fandom (w/ Black Diamonds and Comets SC)

Have you felt swallowed up in a large crowd before? You and everyone in that crowd may have that same common thread tying you all together, for our case a favorite team or sport, but outside of that, there’s a vast array of different opinions, rooting interests and identities that make it up.?

It’s quite easy to feel isolated in this large world we live in, especially if you have a different lived experience than those around you. So, when the opportunity arises for a safe space in a fandom, its members will do everything in their power to not only foster the flame but feed it further.?

In this time of the year, where we reflect on the black experience in America, I sat down with two black run supporters groups to showcase just how much representation matters to their fellow fans and how their work matters more than ever.
