Founded in 2010 as an all-remote organization, Belay is a leading virtual staffing solution helping leaders who need remote work. Today, Belay has approximately 140 employees and 1700 contractors and has remained all-remote since 2010.
Tune in to hear Tricia and John discuss what culture looks like at Belay, why culture should be clearly defined at every organization, and the importance of making sure team members are deeply engaged.
For Tricia, the key was creating a culture where enjoyment and fun were embedded in the core values. Placing immense value on developing a work environment that didn't take itself too seriously, especially being remote-first, made all the difference for the team at Belay.
"When we started back in 2010, the goal was to create a place where people wanted to come to work. The 'non-corporate' work option, if you will. Myself and the founders had young children, we wanted to work from home, we wanted to be more present but we also desired great careers. We knew there had to be a way to create an environment where there could be meaningful work from home that still felt really connected. That was the founding idea for the organization."
