Episode 118: Wendy Wallbridge & Her Book, Spiraling Upward: The 5 Co-Creative Powers for Women on the Rise
Wendy's is another great story of manifesting, becoming, and sharing today what we ourselves needed when we were younger. What we see, live, and experience as children sets the tone for who we are and, in some cases, what our calling becomes.
So many initiations presented themselves to Wendy in the course of her life, from struggling to understand her alcoholic mother, to developing, fighting through, and overcoming Lupus, to losing her sister and in the process adopting her nephew as her own son.
Her formative years pushed her to try to understand what life was about, while her surviving Lupus showed her the urgency in life and just how short it can really be, and adopting her son, I would say, probably showed her, in an instant, a different kind of love and knowledge she had to pass on.
The planet's transformational team. That's what Wendy calls my roster of expert guests on The Book Leads Podcast. It's those kinds of collaborations -- and so many others outside the series -- and their world-changing work that open up our eyes to what's possible. This series is one of so many collections of minds and voices working to learn, live, and build forward.
Hosting these episodes has changed my life. And I'm not exaggerating when I say that. Little nuggets in conversations of wisdom and self-reflection have come through and altered my thinking about life, work, and myself. This conversation with Wendy is no exception.
I love the grasp she has on the need for each of us to balance our masculine and feminine energies. Because of the way she leads the conversation on that balance, I can tell you she's an amazing ally for men. (Yes, men need allies too.) She made me think about and share where I believe my feminine energy comes from. Deep, man. Deep.
CONVERSATION HIGHLIGHTS
- Each of us having a unique signature.
- ..."the hardest things that I went through were the things that taught me kind of my that built my character and taught me what was important."
- How having had Lupus contributed to Wendy's finding her purpose.
- What Wendy considers the initiations in life.
- Life: Collecting the four A's vs. the Ow's and Aw's vs. the off-roading path.
- Masculine vs. Feminine strengths.
- What inner guidance looks like.
- Neurosis as Wendy's motivator.
- The "Little Miracles" of life.
- Where connection happens.
- "...the thing that we most missed getting can also be our gift."
- The vibe of leadership.
- A breakdown of Maslow's Hierarchy (again) and where we're living our lives on it.
- A mention of the happiness formula.
- How we can each have our own little ministry.
- Synchronicity is magic.
The MAIN QUESTION underlying my conversation with Wendy is, What's in your heart or on the back burner that you need to express and put out there?
