Big changes are happening at Episerver for the past few months and year to come. Having acquired Optimizely in October 2020, Episerver now looks for a joint future and roadmap. On top of that, Episerver will seek to benefit from the strong brand awareness that Optimizely brings along. And more changes are coming up...
With the acquisition of Optimizely back in October 2021, Episerver took a major step forward in becoming a market leader in digital experimentation. Combining this software with the content analytics suite of the previous Idio acquisition, the Episerver suite juiced up its data-driven CMS capabilities that will enable organizations to take their digital experience to the next level with behaviour-based decision making.
"Digital experience is a journey
without a finish line."
-- Alex Atzberger, CEO of Optimizely (Epi)
Having added Optimizely to the Episerver family, they will now form one company, one purpose and one brand. And however much we love the Episerver nostalgia, it will become Optimizely soon. This also exemplifies, though, how much we live in an ever accelerating digital arena that will reward organizations that invests in a digital first strategy. It is not separate from other business activities anymore, but intertwined with the reality of the world.
"We're a tech company
that happens to sell pizza."
That's the quote I picked up at Episerver Ascend in 2018. I still love it today and share it with our clients and partners whenever I can. It is such a powerful thing to start thinking this way. Commerce is digital nowadays and even the B2B companies are catching up and Episerver has been preparing for that as well; as of this month, Episerver B2B Commerce Cloud is available in Europe (EMEA) as well. It still features as a headless product that lacks strong integration, but has big potential to cut time-to-market and ROI for any B2B business that relies on complex business scenario's and products. This will be one of the products to keep an eye on for 2021, as Episerver has strong integrations with the product on top of their Roadmap.
To top of the first changes in 2021, it all comes together in the new Gartner Magic Quadrant for Digital Experience Platforms. Episerver, soon to be Optimizely, is being recognized as one of the leaders.
The year has just begun, but what a start it has been...
"Episerver appeals to large enterprises
and growing midsize organisations."
-- Gartner
