Framework Epiphanies v 2025

This time of year commemorates pivotal moments. In Christian traditions, Three Kings honor power in innocence. An exceptional being's identity is finally revealed (but only to some). There is something new from this point forward. ?

In secular traditions, this is also that time of year. The sun and stars are configured anew. Seasons are changing, the day is longer, and spring gets closer. We are reminded of the rhythms and mysteries of life (and both our possibility and place - great and small).

Being a human system, the metaphors and calendars across groups are not the same. Like human language - where everyone thinks of similar patterns of events, emphasizes different meanings, and uses different terms (and in this case, dates.)?

But for many, Jan 6th is such a transitioning event - The Feast of the Epiphany. Nothing will be the same after this.?

So, today is an apt time to reflect, adjust (or pivot), and post an update on the Prometheus Framework.

In the opening Voices last January, we reviewed a major revision to the Framework (Framework 3.0). ?We thought then, and still think, that it is a steady version without a major change in the future. ?In my 2024 "praxizing" I have found solid ground in some of these ideas and distinctions.?

Now, at the start of 2025, a version that has refinements.?I label it version 3.25 - for the revision to version 3 at the start of 2025.?

Summary of Changes

  • A year ago we identified an open question: How does Choice fit into these domains and their lenses? The leader's choice is more explicitly integrated into these materials.?
  • The flow and cadence of leadership is shown in soft green in the new graphic, below. We frame leadership and the rhythms of noticing and responding while noticing springs from our essential human capacities and toward the leaders' intent to manifest those in the world
  • We have visually broken the lens grid to better illustrate the transition from the lenses of the leader and the lenses of the activity of leading.?
  • We have two contrasting icons as a new branding, and they afford the point that these logical structures of the Framework point us to, but are not the underlying reality.?
  • Some terms and their associated illustrative prompts have evolved, but not substantially. These are more confident and courageous. We hope they are more usable in narrative and for comparison to experience. Still, they are language capturing deeply entangled meanings and relationships. We still advocate for being adaptive to terms that fit the context without losing the substance.?

  • Finally, Integrating the domain of Choice more explicitly led us to change the colors in our graphics. The new colors show a continuum from the leader (being as violet) to the manifestation of the "leader's intent" (impact as red). We like, by the way, the artistry of showing what is essential to the being of a leader being the closest color to what is successfully manifested in reality - a circle through the spectrum.?
