EPIC Online Technology Meeting on Mid-IR Photonics

Ana González, EPIC Technology Leader on PIC Manufacturing, organized and successfully chaired with Jose Pozo the EPIC Online Technology Meeting on Mid-IR Photonics. Selected speakers, fully covering the supply-chain, discussed the current and future applications for mid-IR technologies with special focus on connecting the manufacturing supply chain. Kordian Lipski, Sales Engineer at VIGO, spoke on their production of infrared semiconductors and mid-IR photonic devices, including epitaxy like MOCVD for III-V and II-VI materials and MBE for III-V materials.

Rodrigo Linares Herrero, Business Development Manager at NIT, presented their innovative range of mid-IR detectors, high-speed infrared mid-IR cameras and quality monitoring systems for industry.

Pu Jian, VP Product Management & Partnership at Cailabs, spoke on innovative optical components and high-power sources for beam shaping.

Thomas Moritz, Business Line Manager at AMS Technologies, spoke on the pros and cons of the position glass moulding of lenses using chalcogenide glass.

Viacheslav Artyushenko, CEO at art photonics, presented their polycrystalline fibres, chalcogenide fibre and hollow waveguides for mid-IR transmission.     

Angus Bell, Lead Technologist at Emerson, spoke on their quantum cascade laser gas analysers based on a laser chirp technique.

Pascual Mu?oz, Professor at Polytechnic University of Valencia, spoke about his work on developing silicon nitride PIC platforms to cover visible, near-IR and mid-IR at 1-4 micron wavelengths within the same wafer.

Sergio Nicoletti, Business Development and Project Management at CEA-LETI, presented their platforms from visible up to 10 microns using silicon nitride, silicon on SOI, silicon germanium and germanium.
