Selected speakers, fully covering the supply-chain, discuss business opportunities related to specialty optical fibres, interrogation units, turn-key equipment manufacturing, and end-users needs. Remco Nieuwland, CTO at Somni Solutions, spoke about their range of fibre optic sensor solutions in relation to accelerometers and tilt sensors.
Andrzej Sielecki, Process Architect at Philips Innovation Services, presented their fibre processing services, like splicing, polishing and tapering for scaling up from prototype to volume production.
Martin Laging, Senior Sales Manager at NKT Photonics, presented their product range of photonic crystal fibres and fibre lasers such as femtosecond lasers, white light laser sources and ultra-narrow/ ultra-low-noise fibre lasers.
Ian Shannan, Vice President of EMEA Sales at Luna Innovations, spoke about their fibre optic test equipment for communications and photonics equipment and fibre optic sensing.
Mark Jacobs, Commercial Director at Optics11, presented their high-end acoustic emission sensing systems and precision FBG interrogators for bridge, wind turbine and structural health monitoring applications.
Pim Kat, CTO at Technobis Group, spoke about the fabrication of PIC interrogators using FBG technology based on spectrometry and high-resolution interferometry for absolute temperature monitoring and pressure sensing.
Bram Van Hoe, Director Sales & Marketing at FBGS International, presented their processes for draw tower gratings, femtosecond gratings and multi-core speciality fibres for medical and other fibre optic applications.
Per Karlsson, CEO at NorthLab Photonics, spoke on the processes and machines used for fibre preparation, repair, stripping, cleaning and packaging with particular reference to the NORIA system for manufacturing FBGs.
