It's a landmark day here in Brussels where the sun is shining - offering hope of brighter days ahead. While MEPs may have voted in Strasbourg today, the impacts will reach across Europe as the Nature Restoration Law is approved despite a last minute effort by some Parties to kill this landmark legislation. Now Member States will be obliged to restore natural habitats on land and sea to help meet our climate and biodiversity goals. 80% of European habitats are in poor state. Landmark day for nature in Europe. Further good news came with the votes to update the Environmental Crime Directive with a more comprehensive list of offenses and setting stronger sanctions.
