Hello again and thanks for following Fintech Chatter. Yesterday (Halloween) was a landmark day in the history of Fintech Chatter. It marked the five year anniversary of our first ever podcast interview.

It has been such a rewarding 5 years for me. What started as a way to share with my network the deep conversations I'd have with clients over a coffee has turned into an archive of Australian Fintech History.

And to celebrate I have a great Fintech Chatter Podcast for you this week, a transformative piece in more ways than one. I caught up with Paul Weingarth , Co-founder & CEO of Slyp , Australia’s only independent startup backed by all four major banks.

12 months ago I met with Paul for a coffee. Things did not look good. Paul and Slyp were in a challenging place.

Paul's health and fitness had suffered with the stress of running a startup and Slyp were facing major headwinds. I left that meeting deeply concerned for Paul and Slyp.

Paul spent the next week feeling sorry for himself then decided to do something about it. By first focussing on his health, the past year has witnessed a startling transformation.

I'm happy to share that Paul is in the best shape since his Uni days, shedding 25kg and taking part in his first triathlon. And Slyp has bounced back from their challenges with the launch of Go Rewards! A unique platform breaking new ground in the loyalty space.

This is one of my favourite ever episodes as it encapsulates everything that Fintech Chatter has given me over the past 5 years.

Paul first appeared as an early guest and we quickly became friends. Paul is a big fan of the show because of the insights he gets from other founders. Like me, he gets something valuable from every episode.

To be able to witness first hand his journey and share it with you through the podcast is something I'm really proud of!
