When consultants tell me this, honestly, my heart sinks.


Because I know they think this is a really good thing, but it's actually NOT.


Think of your network like a bullseye. Getting an easy "yes" usually means you're only selling to that center circle – people who already know and trust you.


The problem comes when that inner circle eventually runs dry. And when it does, you need different skills to land clients who don't already know you.
