Environmental Impact of Commercial Displays

Helping you transform your space with tailored AV & digital signage
More and more organizations are prioritizing sustainability as a core value than ever before.
As sustainable practices become adopted, the technology we choose needs to align with those goals. Take DVLED video walls, for example - an increasingly popular choice for large displays. But beyond their stunning visual performance, there’s a significant benefit that is often overlooked: environmental impact.
DVLED technology is designed with longevity and energy efficiency in mind. The same isn't true for traditional LCD video walls. But what does that really mean?
Firstly, DVLED displays tend to consume less power. When you scale that across large areas (either a massive single wall, or even several smaller walls throughout a space), the energy savings can be significant. Lower power usage doesn't just cut down on costs—it’s a real step toward reducing your overall carbon footprint, and aligning with a company's sustainability vision.
Another factor to consider is the lifespan of a display. DVLEDs are built to last longer, which means less frequent replacements and less electronic waste. And instead of needing to replace an entire screen if something goes wrong, DVLED's modular design lets you swap out individual panels. Fewer replacements, fewer materials used, less waste—simple, but impactful.

On this point, choosing a display partner with a local service centre can further reduce your overall carbon footprint. Some manufacturers require hardware to be shipped to overseas service centres. Reducing carbon by eliminating the need for air shipping logistics and keeping your RMA's local is something to keep in mind. And of course, results in faster service.
We all love the performance of these systems, but what if we could also make more responsible, sustainable choices? DVLED technology is one step in that direction.
This is something I think is worth giving more time to in our conversations around display technology, and our choices in general.
Let's all make choices that lead us together to a greener future.
