Environment Agency: Pilot project Irthlingborough Lock

By initiative of JN Bentley a demonstration was organised to show a delegation of EA-staff an innovative, efficient, cost and time saving way of refurbishing hydraulic structures.

The purpose of the demo was to show, in one work shift, the removal of an existing coating system by means of RPR Heat Induction, followed by the preparation of the substrate to ST3, and the application of the 3-coat MCPU Stelcatec system.

After a highly successful demo it was decided that the procedure would be trialed on a series of four Pilot Projects. Irthlingborough Lock being the first one in a row.
