Entrepreneurship Reflection!

I wanted to take a moment to share something personal yet deeply connected to the work I do every day. Over the past few months, I’ve been reflecting on my journey and the driving force behind my passion for entrepreneurship and venture capital. This email is a chance for me to share that story with you?—?not as a “pitch” but as a conversation with friends, supporters, and like-minded changemakers like yourself.
Why Venture?Capital?
You may have noticed I’ve been talking about venture capital a lot recently. It’s not by coincidence. After years of working closely with founders, launching initiatives like Founders Live Cairo, and helping startups raise capital, I’ve come to realize something profound: capital is oxygen for innovation. Without it, even the most brilliant ideas remain ideas?—?they never have a chance to breathe, grow, or impact the world.
But venture capital is not just about money. It’s about access, belief, and momentum. It’s about people taking risks on people. And I believe that if done right, venture capital can be a force for good, especially in underrepresented markets and regions like MENA, where I’m privileged to play an active role. It’s why I’ve been working harder than ever to build bridges between founders and funders, to connect great ideas with the fuel they need to ignite.
Why Entrepreneurship?
For me, entrepreneurship is not just a career path?—?it’s a philosophy. It’s about the power of individuals to create change.
I’ve seen it firsthand. I’ve seen founders in Cairo, Dubai, and beyond build companies with nothing but grit, an internet connection, and an unshakable belief that they could solve a problem. Some of them failed, some of them thrived, but all of them learned.
Entrepreneurship has a ripple effect. It creates jobs, inspires communities, and drives solutions to some of society’s biggest challenges. From financial inclusion to education access, it’s the entrepreneurs who are stepping up. And this is why I’ve committed myself to supporting them?—?because when entrepreneurs win, we all win.

The Big?Picture
In every economic downturn, people talk about “recession-proof careers” or “safe jobs.” But I’ve realized something: there is no such thing as “safe”?—?except perhaps in the mindset of an entrepreneur. Entrepreneurs create their own paths. They turn chaos into opportunity. And when the economy is struggling, it’s entrepreneurs who rebuild it.
Look at history. Some of the most iconic companies were born during recessions: Airbnb, Uber, and Slack, to name a few. It’s in these moments of uncertainty that the boldest ideas emerge. And I truly believe that, today, the same story is playing out in every corner of the world.
This is why I remain committed to entrepreneurship?—?not just for myself, but for anyone who dreams of something better. It’s why I continue to help founders raise capital, build pitch decks, run outreach campaigns, and connect them with mentors and investors. Every deal closed, every founder funded, and every job created is a step toward a stronger, more inclusive economy.
What’s Next?
I’m not just sharing this to “tell my story.” I’m sharing it because you are part of it. If you’re receiving this email, you’re part of my network?—?my community. And I want you to know that every event I organize, every founder I support, and every venture I champion is fueled by the belief that we can do better.
If you’re a founder looking for guidance, a venture capitalist looking for promising startups, or simply someone who cares about supporting entrepreneurs?—?let’s connect. There’s more than enough work to be done, and I’d love for us to do it together.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Let’s keep building.
