The entrepreneurship journey is not easy

The entrepreneurship journey is not easy

“It will be highly rewarding!” they said. But no one mentioned the hardships that laid on the path to entrepreneurship.

For many, an entrepreneur is just another word, while some are badly stuck with its pronunciation. However, ask an entrepreneur and you’ll get to know whether or not the grass is greener on their side and what it means to be an entrepreneur.

And if you ask me, I’ll surely say,” Entrepreneurship is not easy. It’s not at all a bed of roses.” Now, why do I say that? Get your answer here!

Risk of failure in 9 out of 10 cases

Entrepreneurship brings along a higher risk rate of failure. Surprisingly, 9 out of 10 new business ideas fail to ignite that spark. Knowing this, would you dare take this risk? Well! The answer depends on how ambitious and daring you are.

On top of that, you have to keep learning from your mistakes as an entrepreneur so that you don’t fail again. This again is stressful.

Rest is not an option despite being COVID positive

COVID weakens the body, but an entrepreneur can’t afford to take a day off to recover (in most of the cases). Strange but true! The fact is that if a business owner rests even for a single day, he may end up in chaos just because he gave some time to his health.

You can’t bear the cost of taking a day off despite testing positive for COVID. I have had that experience recently and I couldn’t rest properly for I had constant thoughts running in my mind. All this didn’t allow me to rest even for a day.

Cashflow struggle, but can’t delay salaries/expenses

The stress of cashflow will kill your peace. However, you can’t delay paying your employees or incurring other expenses even if you have less inflow of cash. During this pandemic, businesses lost clients and payments stopped. Still employers had to pay their employees the salaries for they couldn’t excuse themselves on the grounds of losing clients.

Being an entrepreneur means you have to have month end blues as that is the time when you realize that a month passed in the blink of an eye and it’s time to pay salaries. Tough! Isn’t it?

Maintaining a balance between client satisfaction & team motivation

  • Businesses work for customer’s delight
  • Employees well-being and morale is a thing of priority for businesses

Maintaining a balance between both aspects is no cakewalk. To meet the client’s expectations, you have to push your team. But pushing them in a dominant manner can make their motivation levels fall.

I can say that keeping a balance between both is tougher than anything in the corporate world. But it’s an art that you can learn only with the passage of time.

Looking after family

And then comes your family that longs for your love and attention.

“It’s easy to maintain a balance between personal and professional life.” said no entrepreneur ever. You can’t be present everywhere at the same time. The journey of entrepreneurship will also bring you to a situation where you might be physically present with your family, but your thoughts take you away to your office and work and that stress.

It’s not convenient to devote equal time to both sides, but you can always try.

Final takeaway:

“You have to see the failure as the beginning and the middle, but never entertain it as an end.”

The entrepreneurship journey is not easy, but it will be worth it at the end. The only thing that you have to keep is determination and wait for things to fall in place.

Go, get it!

P.S. Stay safe! Stay ambitious! Stay humble!
