An Entrepreneurial Mindset

If you have heard my story you know that entrepreneurship is not for the faint-hearted. It takes grit, determination, and a willingness to take risks. But for those who are willing to put in the work, the rewards can be great. I've learned many valuable lessons along the way through the countless challenges I've faced, and I want to share the top five with you:

1. Failure is not the end, but a beginning

As an entrepreneur, you'll experience failure at some point. It's not the end of the road, but an opportunity to learn, grow, and pivot. I've learned to embrace failure as a learning experience and use it to improve my business and myself. Some of the most successful entrepreneurs have experienced failure before achieving success. If FUNLOCKA hadn't of stopped overnight, Cuppa would have never of happened... for that I am so thankful

2. Know your why

Knowing your "why" is crucial when you're an entrepreneur. It's what gives you the drive to keep pushing forward, even when things get tough. It's what makes you get up every morning and work on your business with passion and purpose. Without a clear understanding of your "why," it's easy to lose sight of your goals and get bogged down in the day-to-day tasks of running a business. That's why it's important to take the time to identify your "why" and use it to create a vision for your business or the work you do. Knowing your "why" will help you make decisions that align with your values and passions and keep you focused on what matters most to you..

3. Focus on networking

Networking is essential for entrepreneurs and is also essential in your career. It's a great way to meet new people, learn from others, and expand your learning. Since starting my own business, my network has grown tenfold, and I've met some amazing people who have helped me along the way.

Although it may be a controversial statement, I've personally found that I've received more help from people who I've recently formed relationships with, rather than those I've known for most of my career.

4. Embrace continuous learning and personal growth

Entrepreneurship is a constantly evolving process, and to succeed, you need to be willing to learn and grow. You need to find ways to add learning into your everyday through the conversations you have, the workshops you attend and the information you seek.

I am slowly working out the need to park my ego and realise that I have a long way to go to be a great entrepreneur and leader.

5. Persistence is key

Persistence is essential for success in entrepreneurship. It's not enough to have a great idea or work hard. You need to keep pushing forward, even when things get tough. Perseverance is what sets successful entrepreneurs apart from those who give up. Keep moving forward, stay focused on your goals, and don't let setbacks derail you.

Finally, entrepreneurship is not easy, but it's worth it. By embracing failure as an opportunity to learn, prioritising your time, networking, taking calculated risks, and being persistent, you can achieve success as an entrepreneur or your career.
