Entrepreneurial Lemonade

Hi everyone...so...I did a thing...with 15 or so other entrepreneurs...

I have always wanted to write, one of my favorite teachers in high school was also one of my toughest, and I can still hear her walking around the room saying, "generate, generate!" - which was her way of telling us to mind-map our story ideas.

Here's a bit from my chapter, titled "Entrepreneurial Lemonade" ...just a couple of quick excerpts:

That is my favorite quote and for several years I had it on my living room wall in giant letters.? I’m not a successful entrepreneur by design first, but rather by happenstance. It started simply as a way to get to be what I really wanted to be: a mother first.??

I had a successful career in the late 90’s doing operations and procurement management for an electronic components distributor.? I was often the problem solver and solution provider for my colleagues, our customers and even my vendors. I found that success through an early love of the Internet…not like it is today where you barely blink and find your answers, but back when there was still mystery and an art to finding hard-to-find items. I loved solving the puzzles of “how to” and “where” and “when”.

This is my story, where I will take you through why and how I started my entrepreneurial journey, the love I had and still have for it, the destruction of my marriage on a “Lifetime Movie Network” level and an overview of that bitter situation…among others, and how and why I chose to “make lemonade”...my entrepreneurial heart will see me through whatever life’s lemons have to throw at me.

I’m sure you want to hear it all…but out of respect for my kids…I will simply say that about a year or so earlier I had had a little air let out of my marriage sails…but in April 2010, it all just came crashing down around me.? The weekend before my son’s 10th birthday party."
