For I am an Entrepreneur!...read on - “A title doth not maketh you”

“I am an #entrepreneur !.....oh really?

“A title doth not maketh you”

Has this term ‘entrepreneur’ been diluted over time?

I remember working in a rural country pub in the UK. Log fire burning, local ale with a rustic menu offering a wonderful array of country fare.....(and, I might add, a rather attractive co-worker that later became my wife but that's another story...)

Propping up the bar day in day out were two fine gentlemen. Both with many a story and tales of times gone by. Neither were that old, but both appeared weathered through years of consistent enjoyment of their favorite tipple.

When one was asked, "what do you do?" He would respond in a true low Shakespearean theatric voice " for I am an actor!"

Similarly...when asked of the other, an equally articulate and bounding answer would come forth " for I am an author!"

When delving a little deeper to find out when their last professional encounter happened for both it transpired that it was one-time, many years ago.

Life was now passing them by, self-validation was a retelling and living the narrative that protected their lack of achievement and insecurities.

I think you know where I’m going with this…..

The term entrepreneur is difficult to qualify; there are no certificates or milestones that confer the title.

So to all the true #entrepreneurs out there...

Thank you from all of us for the #jobs you've created, the #giving in our community and the untold sacrifices that have gone on behind the scenes.

You've already shown more #courage than 99% of those that only dream, in venturing into #business ownership ...and we thank you!

All the best to you!

Guy

What gets me is the overuse of the word CEO. I find it kinda funny to list yourself as CEO when your business is just you freelancing, or a part time gig selling MLM products.
