Entrepreneur looking for a Co-Founder

Firstly thank you for reading this article and campaign (and maybe sharing). Did you know that Start-ups are a key component of a vibrant economy, but … only 22% of Australian start-ups are founded by women and we won’t reach our potential if we don’t fully?leverage?the talent in half the population. I am part of that population! However, progress has stalled - only 0.7% of funding secured by start-ups went to solely women-founded companies?in?FY22. This was taken out of a recent report in 2022 by Deloitte - Accelerating women founders: The untapped investment opportunity.

I wasn't aware of this. It shocked me! I knew it wasn't great however I didn't know it was this dire. I was on a Google Meets call today with the amazing Heads over Heels team about my start up and asked for their help. They asked a lot of great yet challenging questions and gave me some awesome suggestions.

One question they asked was - if there was ONE thing you needed now what would it be? I said I need an OUTSTANDING CO-FOUNDER.

So here I am putting myself in the arena (yet again...) as I was in this space 15 years ago with LeadershipHQ which has had it's definite ups and downs (today growing remarkably and rapidly), then in 2019 with the launch our Global Outstanding Leadership Awards which navigated the rough seas and sh*tshow of COVID where today they are truly iconic awards - and now I am working on a technology and software start-up and have been for the past 2 years. This entrepreneur wants to change the face of leadership.

I am really scared....and beyond excited. I know I am calling into my courage big time here. Right now.

We have built something a concept, platform and solutions that we know will make a difference in this art and science as well as a huge ROI in engaging and developing great cultures.

My values are Kindness, Courage, Wisdom and Empowerment.

My leadership story began 17 years ago where I followed my husband's career to move overseas. Devastatingly I was left alone in a foreign country as a full time single mother and little money to my name.?I knew I needed to come home and it was even tougher (and soul destroying to be honest and I refused to let it define who I was) to start again. I was beyond fearless in supporting my daughter and building a new life for us. Even more heart breaking was watching my daughter at 13 years old suffer debilitating mental health challenges due to severe bullying and nearly losing everything I loved. Hence I am passionate our mental health and also giving hope to our future generations. I had to call onto every ounce of my courage and leadership. Today I am the CEO of two amazing companies, award winning author of three books, founder of the Outstanding Leadership Awards, one of the Australia's leading entrepreneurs, a global keynote speaker, leading executive coach and solo mum to an extraordinary daughter called Abby - and with over 30 years HR, Leadership and Culture experience....

There is a lot more to me however I am committed, petrified and passionate about this new start up.
