Enthusiasm of a Salesman, from my upcoming book "The Marketing to Sales Flywheel"
There is an atmosphere created during the buying process by the Salesman. No matter how unique, state of the art and cost effective your product or service is to your prospect, if there is no enthusiasm in the picture the sale will be difficult to be made. This enthusiasm must be brought in the picture by the Seller.
Enthusiasm is the motivation of any Sales and Marketing person however enthusiasm without a plan is like walking in the dark. Statistics show that the average sales person will be able sell one in every five prospects that they meet. This means that on average you have a 20% probability of making the sale that you working on and 80% chance of losing it. You must treat every sale as it is the one out of the five you expect to win if you are going to succeed in sales. If you do not get this one, do not take it personal, think of the statistics and you have four to go which requires the same effort and enthusiasm all over again. Therefore there is no reason to get disappointed as disappointment will affect your performance. Just move to the next sale with the same enthusiasm in the same way you sleep over a stressful day and wake up the next morning fresh to start a brand new day with excitement.
