Some of them have unique stories like LaFarris Risby, Loving Arms Childcare and Preschool, Junction City, Kansas who was recognized last year by the Kansas Dept. of Economic and Commerce "Minority-Owned Business Service Industry Firm of the year" and as the largest childcare center in Junction City who has STEM educational processes in helping the children develop as a key focus. She also created a new venture with LaFarris Inc, a newly released book called "Dare to Dream" where she shares about her life and overcoming adversities, she is speaking nationally on entrepreneurship as an African American woman and building up a business, family and legacy. Soon to launch a podcast for empowering entrepreneurs.

Then there's Maharba Zapata, Salsa Queen, a Latina powerhouse woman who also fought for her large family to have a safe home and shelter, food on the table and loved cooking healthy food after overcoming many challenges when arriving in the US. She created something that is tasty and healthy disrupting the normal salsa flavors we are accustomed to, her's being extraordinary flavors that keep people asking for more.

The Enterprising Women of the Year Awards is widely considered one of the most prestigious recognition programs for women business owners. To win, nominees must demonstrate that they have fast-growth businesses, mentor or actively support other women and girls involved in entrepreneurship, and stand out as leaders in their communities. Many of the honorees also serve as leaders of the key organizations that support the growth of women’s entrepreneurship. 

Branding and access to incredible networks which have high level support, access, and resources for growth are critical.
