Cohesity, an AI-powered data security provider, has expanded its strategic partnership with CrowdStrike to strengthen its threat detection and response offerings. The collaboration combines Cohesity's data protection capabilities with CrowdStrike's threat intelligence feeds. This combination will enable mutual customers to identify the latest threats in their backup copies with a higher degree of fidelity and accuracy while minimizing the attackers' advantages and preventing adversaries from enacting countermeasures.
ColorTokens Acquires PureID
ColorTokens, a global enterprise micro-segmentation company, has acquired PureID, a startup that provides secure identity and access management. The acquisition will help ColorTokens strengthen its micro-segmentation capabilities by integrating PureID's robust identity offerings. ColorTokens will also benefit from PureID's AI-based access regulation, which can provide customers across multiple environments with cloud and containerized environments, user-specific environments, and IoT and OT environments, which help ensure accurate policy enforcement, strong identities, and security.
Databricks Adds Precisely, Informatica, Alteryx to Partner Connect
Databricks has announced the addition of three new integrations available in Databricks Partner Connect, the company's centralized hub that allows companies to integrate partner solutions with the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform. The new additions include Precisely, Informatica, and Alteryx. Deloitte Launches AI Factory as a Service
Deloitte has announced the launch of AI Factory as a Service, a new suite of generative AI capabilities built on the NVIDIA AI platform. The AI Factory as a Service suite aims to provide organizations with a scalable collection of AI software and use cases that enable them to deliver customized GenAI workflows. The suite is built around a holistic multi-disciplinary approach that combines Deloitte's data science, model design, and industry knowledge with the capabilities of the NVIDIA AI platform. Druva Announces GenAI Powered Data Security Investigation Tool
Druva, a data security provider, has launched Dru Investigate, a generative AI-powered tool designed to guide data security investigations with a natural language interface. With this new offering, users across IT, legal, security, and privacy teams can improve how they identify and mitigate potential data risks without needing to write complicated queries. Dru Investigate is built on Amazon Bedrock, an AWS service. The tool also leverages Druva's insights from protected data sets to help streamline cyber and legal investigations.
Glean Raises Over $260 Million in a Series E Funding Round
Glean, an enterprise AI search firm, has raised over $260 million in a new funding round, bringing its total valuation to $4.6 billion, over twice the amount it was valued at in February. The Series E funding round was led by led by Altimeter and DST Global. The company also announced new features that allow users to create "multi-step" prompts using natural language to remove the necessity for coding skills or prompt engineering. Co-founder and CEO Arvind Jain, who also co-founded data management startup Rubrik, said in February the company plans to increase hiring in response.
IBM Announces New DS8000 Mainframe Storage
IBM has announced details on the IBM Storage DS8000, the latest innovation of its enterprise-class storage for IBM Z mainframe architectures. Generally available on October 24th, 2024, the new offering is designed to harness the complete power of IBM Z and provide organizations with access to critical workloads, consistent and optimized data performance, and a modular architecture that adopts the latest IBM research-back technologies. Infinidat Extends Partnership with Red Hat
Infinidat, an enterprise storage solution provider, has announced that its InfiniBox solution has been successfully tested to work with the Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization solution. The technical validations open up several possibilities for enterprise customers and channel partners. For example, it enables them to deploy, migrate, and manage their virtual machine (VM) workloads and virtualized applications using Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization. The milestone also builds on the ongoing success that Infinidat has had with the InfiniBox Container Storage Interface (CSI) driver for petabyte-scale Kubernetes deployments of Red Hat OpenShift in hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
OpenAI Launches New Series of Reasoning Modules
OpenAI has developed and launched a new series of AI models that are designed to spend more time thinking before responding. These new models can reason through complex tasks and solve harder problems in science, coding, and math than prior models. As an early model, it doesn't yet have many of the features that make ChatGPT useful, like browsing the web for information and uploading files and images. For many common cases, GPT-4o will be more capable in the near term.
