Airbyte Enhances Databricks Integration
Airbyte, an open-source data movement infrastructure provider, has announced enhanced support for Delta Lake on the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform, which will make it easier for users to replicate data into their lakehouse from any source. The integration will also allow organizations to manage large volumes of structured and unstructured data more efficiently, ensuring timelier access to the insights necessary for informed decision-making.
AuthenticID Releases an Identity Verification Platform
AuthenticID, a global provider of identity verification and fraud prevention solutions, has released AuthenticID360, a new holistic identity verification platform. The new platform aims to deliver robust verification and risk signaling capabilities to clients, including a two-second response time for identity transactions. Those capabilities include an automated decision engine, KYC and KYB data validations, orchestration tools for building decisioning workflows, and a collection of fraud protection features, including liveness detection, face matching, deep-fake injection attack sections, bad actor watchlist, and proprietary anti-fraud algorithms.
Cloudera Partners with Snowflake
Cloudera, a hybrid data company, has partnered with Snowflake to provide organizations with a comprehensive open data lakehouse. By leveraging Cloudera to build and manage Iceberg tables, Snowflake customers can provide a single, consistent, and accurate view of their data for their BI users without moving or copying data to other systems. They can also take advantage of Cloudera’s true hybrid architecture and provide easy access to on-premises data sources by leveraging Apache Ozone.
Cohesity Adds Advanced Viz Tool & New Data Sources
Cohesity, an AI-powered data security provider, has introduced a patent-pending data exploration capability to Cohesity Gaia, an AI-powered search assistant. The visual data explorer is designed to provide customers with a visual categorization of themes across the documents and files in a data set, equipping users with additional context that makes it easier to extract meaningful insights. It also indexes and provides insight based on data stored in many popular formats, including emails, documents, PDFs, text files, spreadsheets, HTML, XML, and presentations.
Epicor Acquires Acadia, a Connected Work Solution
Epicor, a global provider of industry-specific enterprise software, has acquired Acadia Software. This Connected Work solution provides frontline workers in manufacturing and other supply chain industries with real-time insights and step-by-step guidance. Epicor will integrate Acadia's capabilities into its solution suite to provide customers with real-time data, task management tools, and digital work instructions that help frontline teams drive continuous improvement throughout their organization. Acadia will also provide users with tools for developing employee skills and supporting career progression.
Freshworks Announces the Freddy AI Agent
Freshworks, an AI service software provider, has announced Freddy AI Agent, a collection of autonomous service agents that can be deployed in minutes. With Freddy AI, companies can improve their customer and employee experiences by streamlining the process of resolving service requests. The AI Agent is a fully autonomous tool designed to learn from existing documents and websites and can be deployed without asking users to know any code. It's also built to personalize and contextualize conversations in multiple languages and across various channels, all while meeting security and compliance standards.
IBM Unveils Granite 3.0
At IBM's annual TechXchange event, the company announced the launch of Granite 3.0, an advanced family of AI models. The third generation of the Granite language models is designed to be a "workhorse" for enterprise AI and can deliver strong performances for tasks like Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), classification, summarization, entity extraction, and tool use. Consistent with the company’s commitment to open-source AI, the Granite models are released under the permissive Apache 2.0 license.
Infosys Collabs with University of Cambridge on New AI Lab
Infosys, a global provider of digital services and consulting, has unveiled the new and expanded Living Labs, which is part of a network of over 12 centers worldwide. As part of this announcement, Infosys detailed its collaboration with the University of Cambridge to establish a new AI Lab aimed at harnessing the power of AI technology to address real-world challenges and drive positive impacts for clients, students, and the broader academic world.
Laserfiche Reveals the New Features Available in Laserfiche 12
Laserfiche—an SaaS provider of intelligent content management and business process automation solutions—has announced Laserfiche 12, its newest software release. Laserfiche 12 will be generally available on November 6th, 2024, and offer self-hosted customers a collection of new and updated product features. These include more intuitive metadata management, enterprise identity management tools, consistent user experience configuration, better usability throughout the Laserfiche product suite, and additional training resources and certification opportunities for users.
SailPoint Reveals a New Machine Identity Security Solution
SailPoint, a unified identity security provider for enterprises, has launched SailPoint Machine Identity Security, a new product built specifically for machine accounts. Machine Identity Security is built on SailPoint Atlas and aims to unify the process of identity security for machine and human identities, making it easier for companies to manage all identities. Additionally, the SailPoint Machine Identity Security solution can automate the governance and lifecycle management processes to help businesses approach the compliance process with more confidence.
Seismic Reveals its Fall 2024 Product Release
Seismic, a global provider of enablement solutions, has announced its Fall 2024 Product Release. This release features the launch of Seismic Programs, a new collection of enablement planning and measurement tools that help revenue enablement teams link their activities directly to revenue growth. Alongside the general availability of Seismic Programs, the Fall 2024 release introduces Aura Copilot, a generative AI assistant, new features for sales meetings, and various tools for developing, deploying, and scaling training programs that address skill gaps.
ServiceNow and Rimini Street Expand Their Partnership
ServiceNow, an AI platform for business transformation, and Rimini Street, an end-to-end enterprise software support provider, have announced an expanded partnership to develop an enterprise software model that helps organizations unlock additional value from their existing ERPs and enterprise applications. The joint solution will combine ServiceNow's single architecture and data model with Rimini Street's enterprise software support services, allowing companies to accelerate their customer innovation efforts across procurement, supply chain, finance, HR, IT, and customer service use cases.

Socket Raises $40 Million in a Series B Funding Round
Socket, a platform provider focused on protecting software from supply chain attacks, has closed a $40 million Series B funding round. Abstract Ventures led the round, which included participation from Elad Gil, Andreessen Horowitz, and a group of angel investors. UC San Diego Launches School of Computing, Information and Data Sciences
This summer, the UC Regents voted to approve a new school at UC San Diego to address the growing importance of computing, information, and data science disciplines. As the fourth school to be added to the school in the 21st century, the new School of Computing, Information, and Data Sciences (SCIDS) will join the San Diego Supercomputer Center with the Hal?c?o?lu Data Science Institute. “SCIDS meets a critical need in modern society to transform data into actionable knowledge,” says Chancellor Pradeep K. Khosla.
UiPath Unveils its Plans to Focus on Agentic Automation
UiPath, an enterprise automation software company, has shared details on its new vision and strategic direction, which centers on agentic automation. As part of this initiative, UiPath announced a preview of Agent Builder, a new tool to help automation developers build, evaluate, and publish enterprise agents that work alongside robots on UiPath's automation platform. Agent Builder will be part of the UiPath Studio suite, meaning developers can use Studio to develop and deploy workflows that work cooperatively with agents.
Zoho Outlines its Plan to Leverage the NVIDIA NeMo Solution
Zoho Corporation, the global technology company, has announced its plans to leverage the NVIDIA AI accelerated computing platform, including the NVIDIA NeMo solution, which is part of NVIDIA's Enterprise AI software. Zoho will use NVIDIA AI to build and deploy large language models (LLMs) for its SaaS applications. Additionally, Zoho will test the NVIDIA TensorRT-LLM to optimize its LLMs for deployment. Vishal Dhupar, Managing Director of Asia South at NVIDIA, says, "With NVIDIA's AI software and accelerated computing platform, Zoho is building a broad range of models to help serve the diverse needs of its business customers."
