In modern IT landscape when the focus of #enterprisearchitect is there on #digitalbusinesstransformation, it always required to integrate application with many 3rd party APIs, legacy system, cloud services and many heterogeneous systems of all ages and natures, integrating such applications may have following challenges:

  • Protocol: Applications can accept input from a variety of means, ranging from a local filesystem, HTTP, FTP or RESTful API.
  • Data format: Application can use plain text, xml, Json or any other format to exchange data.
  • Invocation styles: This may be Synchronous, asynchronous, RPC, messaging, and batch call semantics entail very different integration strategies.
  • Lifecycle and management: Applications may have different lifecycle and management for deployment and maintenance hence monitoring of application also have different strategy.

In modern enterprise application, I am using #mulesoft as integration technology which help us to deals with many such issues.

Mule, the leading open-source enterprise integration platform, which has been developed to tackle these difficulties and frees developer from much of the plumbing associated with enterprise application integration, allowing developer to focus on your application’s core requirements.
