"Enter to Learn, Leave to Serve"

November 1, 2023, marked my second anniversary at Christian Brothers University! I have truly enjoyed serving CBU and the collaborative nature of the recruitment work. The sense of community is what sets CBU apart. I have been a part of the CBU community since Fall 2008, when I was a dual-enrollment student in high school. Through a community partnership between City University School of Liberal Arts and CBU, I had the opportunity to start my college journey early. My passion for recruiting talented and diverse students from all faiths and backgrounds who aspire to lead lives guided by Lasallian values of faith, service, and community will continue to be fueled by a desire to eliminate barriers and ensure that education is more accessible for all.

Now, recruitment is not for faint of heart, but as we conclude the Spring 2024 Term 1, I reflect on how much we have accomplished over the past two years:

• Created and Launched the Buc-to-Buc initiative, which resulted in a 250% increase in enrollment from the Fall of 2022 to the Fall of 2023.?

• Contributed to the Graduate School's enrollment growth, e.g., Fall 2021 (473 graduate students) to Fall 2022 (681 graduate students)
• Contributed to the Graduate School's enrollment growth, e.g., Fall 2022 (681 graduate students) to Fall 2023 (834 graduate students)
• Contributed to the Graduate School's enrollment growth, e.g., Spring 2022 (610 graduate students) to Spring 2023 (805 graduate students) and Spring 2024 (802 graduate students)
• Established, maintained, and cultivated a Graduate School social media presence (developed various social media accounts and gained about 3,372 followers on LinkedIn while outperforming other graduate schools with organic content and follower growth)

I have witnessed how CBU has helped others on their academic journeys. Even individuals who struggled with other universities have shared their success stories of earning a degree from CBU. CBU's campus is beautiful, but the community here makes it special. CBU welcomes people from all walks of life. However, CBU's commitment to faith and service is truly inspiring, and I feel privileged to be a part of such a remarkable community.

St. John Baptist de La Salle, the founder of the Lasallian educational network, dedicated his life to educating young people, and that mission continues because of the Brothers and Lasallian educators. Like John Baptist de La Salle, our faculty and staff have a sense of vocation and mission and view teaching as a ministry. They have helped me grow academically, personally, and professionally and have played a significant role in my faith. Our faculty and staff have worked tirelessly through their service and learning to reduce anxiety and uncertainty during these difficult times, a unique strength of CBU that sets it apart.?

I am grateful for the opportunity to recruit talented and diverse students from all faiths and backgrounds who aspire to lead lives guided by Lasallian values of faith, service, and community. To GOD be the Glory!
