Ensuring Data Reliability, MoH Involved Practitioners and Public to Discuss the Indonesia’s One Health Data Dashboard
Health Technology Transformation and Digitalization Team
We are on a mission to transform healthcare delivery in Indonesia.
The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia held a Focus Group Discussion, “Indonesia’s One Health Data Dashboard User Needs Assessment” in Jakarta on Friday, October 28, 2022, supported by The Country Health Information System and Data Use project (CHISU).
Stakeholders and healthcare practitioners from public health centers (Puskesmas), hospitals, and health officers from various regions as well as researchers and media experts were invited in this hybrid discussion. The aim is to identify user’s obstacles and needs in developing Indonesia's One Health Data Dashboard and its future integration with SATUSEHAT platform.
“This meeting intends to communicate the needs and gather information related to the challenges faced by healthcare practitioners and the public in collecting health data in Indonesia,” said Rickent Putra Hakiki, Data Analytics Manager of the Digital Transformation Office (DTO) MoH.
Rickent also explained, Indonesia has a challenge in collecting scattered data which is stored in different systems and applications. Based on initial mapping, there are more than 400 health applications owned by the central and regional governments that have not been integrated.
"Indonesia's One Health Data Dashboard is an initiative to integrate data from various applications, so healthcare workers are able to focus more on services and the government can get reliable health data for policy making,” Rickent stated.
From this discussion, it is also known that many healthcare facilities are still doing manual processes in collecting and reporting individual health data. "With Indonesia's One Health Data Dashboard that integrated with SATUSEHAT, we can reduce the manual process," said Rickent.
Dr. dr. Diah Handayani Sp.P (K), Chairman of the Education Coordination Committee of the University of Indonesia Hospital (RSUI) and a health researcher, was also a participant in this discussion and shared her experiences and hopes to get health data for research purposes.

“Along this time, we need to look for data in scattered places and sources. This makes research become expensive and complicated. It is hoped with the development of Indonesia’s One Health Data Dashboard can shorten the process,” Diah said.
According to Diah, Indonesia is currently being challenged to utilize big data to support the analysis result and research accuracy as a basis for quality data-driven policy making. “I hope Indonesia's One Health Data Dashboard can encourage its realization.”
Meanwhile, Fauzan Sandy Pradana from National Brain Center Hospital in Jakarta wishes that as a data source, the dashboard needs to pay attention and prioritize patients’ privacy rights.
"Further mechanisms and regulations to support the security and protection of patients’ privacy rights are required. That way, we can send the patients’ data wisely without risking their rights,” said Fauzan.
Indonesia's One Health Data Dashboard is an innovation to provide web-based interactive portal as a source of health data and information that integrate with the SATUSEHAT platform. Although still limited, now the public can access the dashboard through satudata.kemkes.go.id sites.
"Until now, the data displayed on the dashboard for the public is limited to information related to COVID-19. However, it is estimated that until early 2023, we will add other information, especially related to primary care services, such as stunting, maternal and child health and so on," said Rickent.
Meanwhile, Rickent explained, development was also carried out for private access for the government. "After this discussion, we will try to summarize all inputs and discuss more deeply regarding the readiness of healthcare facilities to integrate their system into the SATUSEHAT platform.”

2 年Wondering about “collecting scattered data” at one side and how data is stored at the other side. Hope it is not just a solution driven by vendor.
