Ensuring Data Privacy with LOUHE’s Security Solutions

Ensuring Data Privacy with LOUHE’s Security Solutions

We understand the importance of data privacy and are committed to maintaining high standards of data protection. With new technology innovation, concerns around data privacy are more relevant than ever, so it is crucial to address these issues comprehensively. Here, we outline our approach to data privacy and provide insights on handling and protecting customer data.

GDPR: An Overview

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a comprehensive data protection law that was implemented across the European Union in May 2018. It aims to give individuals control over their personal data and simplify the international business regulatory environment by unifying regulations within the EU.

Key Principles of GDPR

Lawfulness, Fairness, and Transparency: Data must be processed lawfully, fairly, and in a transparent manner.

Purpose Limitation: Data must be collected for specified, explicit, and legitimate purposes.

Data Minimization: Data collected must be adequate, relevant, and limited to what is necessary.

Accuracy: Data must be accurate and kept up to date.

Storage Limitation: Data must be kept in a form that permits identification of data subjects for no longer than necessary.

Integrity and Confidentiality: Data must be processed in a manner that ensures appropriate security.

LOUHE’s Data Privacy Practices

Data privacy is important to us at LOUHE, and we have implemented several measures to ensure compliance with GDPR and other regulatory requirements. Here are the core practices:

Primary Data Source: Our solutions primarily use access control data collected and stored by our customers in their access control systems. This data is already being managed by the clients, ensuring that no new data is being introduced solely for our systems.

Anonymization and Pseudonymization: When data is transferred from customer systems to LOUHE for analysis, we request that customers remove personal identifiers such as names. Instead, data is processed using IDs or key IDs. This approach ensures that data is pseudonymized from the customer's perspective and anonymized from LOUHE's perspective, as we cannot link the IDs back to individuals.

Data Enrichment: To enhance and refine our analysis, we may integrate data from various other sources such as vehicle registration systems, intrusion/fire alarm systems, and video surveillance systems. However, this data is also handled with the utmost care, and pseudonymized/anonymized as much as possible with each customer to ensure privacy.

Metadata Use When Handling Video Surveillance Material: When we are using video surveillance systems, LOUHE does not process video feeds directly or analyze video footage for object or person recognition. Instead, we use metadata generated by the surveillance system, such as the count of individuals passing through a gate.

Focusing on Anomaly Detection: Our use of AI and data analytics reduces the need to monitor individual actions closely. Instead, our technology focuses on detecting anomalies, allowing us to concentrate on unusual patterns rather than tracking individual behaviors.

In traditional security monitoring, operators often have to scan a vast array of video feeds and data sources, focusing on general surveillance across multiple screens. This can be overwhelming and inefficient, as it requires constant attention to every detail, leading to potential oversights.

LOUHE transforms this approach by allowing operators to focus exclusively on anomalies detected by AI. Instead of monitoring all video feeds constantly, security personnel can concentrate on investigating AI-flagged deviations, significantly reducing the need for broad, continuous surveillance and enhancing overall efficiency.

For example, while a traditional security guard may watch several screens simultaneously, a LOUHE user would be alerted only to specific incidents identified by AI, making the monitoring process more targeted and effective.

Addressing Data Privacy Concerns

To proactively address customer concerns about data privacy, here are some points for discussion:

Transparency: We are committed to transparency in how we handle data. Customers are fully informed about our data processing methods and can see that we prioritize privacy at every step.

Control: Customers maintain control over their data. By pseudonymizing personal information before it reaches us, they ensure that data linkage can only be performed on their end.

Security: Our robust security measures protect data during transmission and processing. We use encryption and access controls to safeguard data integrity and confidentiality.

Compliance: Our processes are designed to comply with GDPR and other relevant data protection regulations, ensuring that customer data is handled legally and ethically.

Conclusion

At LOUHE, we take data privacy seriously. By using advanced techniques we ensure that our security solutions enhance safety and protect individual privacy. By addressing data privacy concerns head-on and ensuring compliance with GDPR, LOUHE continues to lead the way in secure, transparent, and effective security solutions.
