Typical characteristics of a Red(D)/Yellow(I)/Green(S)/Blue(C) person:
See if you can identify the different colours:
At the office:
A- Your manager overloads you with tasks that aren’t in your work description:
1. You reluctantly accept the extra workload and at the same time ask for a written instruction for this additional work
2. You immediately inform your manager that these duties are not yours and that you will try to squeeze them into your normal workload
3. You silently accept them for now even if they are not in your work description
4. Additional work! Am I up for a promotion or not? I better ask my colleagues
B- Someone interrupts you in the middle of a critical point during a presentation:
1. You thank the person for the interesting question, and you consider if you should answer right away or if you should wait
2. You stop your presentation and take your time to answer the question and then try to pick up where you left off
3. You didn’t expect this so you inform the person that you will reply to the question once you have finished the presentation
4. You are not so easily distracted, so you ignore the person and continue with your presentation
C- The company has grown, and an attractive new manager’s position is now available:
1. After a lot of consideration, you ask your manager if you might be a candidate for the new position and if you should apply for it
2. During the last yearly meeting with your manager you stated that you were looking for a promotion, so if this is a position that suits you your manager will let you know
3. You prepare your CV and set up a meeting with your manager to point out you are the best person to take the new position
4. You ask around about this position to find out more before you ask for an appointment with your manager to show your interest in the new to fill the position
D- You need to leave work urgently:
1. You take your coat and stuff and leave the office without explaining anything to anyone, if necessary, you leave a small note with the managers assistant
2. You inform your manager that you need to leave for a short moment and that you will come back asap to finish your work even if it means overtime
3. You send an email to your manager explaining why you need to go and hope for approval before you need to go; otherwise, you will have to solve this situation later after getting permission to leave
4. You inform your colleagues why you need to leave urgently, you then pass your managers office to ask for permission to go, you hope for the best
