?? Enrollment Open! The Myth of "Job Security" & 3 Ways to Land Clients ?

Hey Friends, Hannah here!

Coming in with exciting news this weekend. If you've been around for a while, you'll have most likely heard about our highly esteemed Virtual Assistant and Freelancer training, The Virtual Excellence Academy. It's the training and support community that informs the success and acts as a foundation for some of the most accomplished and in-demand VAs and freelancers out there. It was also recently voted the #1 VA training program worldwide. ????

?? THE VIRTUAL EXCELLENCE ACADEMY IS OPEN FOR ENROLLMENT!

For a final time in 2023.

There are 30 of 50 spots available in this cohort, as 20 incredible humans have already taken the leap into the next stage of their careers. This is folks who are ready to dive in head-first and gain the skills, knowledge, support, and opportunities that will have them stand out and succeed in this career. Enrollment is open until next Friday ??

Okay, okay, okay, but what is it?!

In the Virtual Excellence Academy (VEA), I and expert trainers take you through the A-Z of building a successful VA or freelance business - all the while supported by an incredible community. I cover things like:

  1. How to have impactful discovery calls and win over dreamy, aligned, clients
  2. How to use all the every day, and many advanced, VA tools that will enable you to be confident in serving these clients
  3. How to market your business sustainably so that you are not reliant on gig sites and you are fully in control of your direction
  4. How to put a price on your services and get paid from anywhere in the world
  5. How to overcome mindset blocks, like imposter syndrome, and the fear of failure, so that you can reach greater success and don’t burn out along the way

This is just a snippet of this comprehensive program.

It's a one-time fee, with payment plans available to break it up starting from $150, which once you complete - you're set! You'll gain admission to an engaged forever-support community at no additional cost, which you'll come to rely on for years. Inside, we hold weekly coworking sessions, monthly educational events, question time, and so much more. Not to mention bountiful resources, job opportunities, and ever-evolving training to meet the needs of now and the future, having you feeling confident in handling your clients and your own business in an ever-shifting landscape. For example, we recently included a whole training on AI implementation to ensure our members old and new are armed and ready to work with clients seeking these capabilities. ?

Amy just joined us yesterday and already is thrilled about her decision ??. We are just as thrilled to have you on board ??

After building my own VA business, and then shifting to VA Coaching where I've trained over 30,000 people, I have become a staple in the VA and freelance space, with entrepreneurs trusting me to find qualified, trained VAs to hire ethically and intelligently. This means we have an abundance of exclusive client opportunities due to our position built over 10 years in this space - and you have access to these unique roles as a member.

By joining the VEA you are elevating your reputation as a VA, equipping yourself with the knowledge to provide excellent services and experiences, and exposing yourself to high-value clients.

?? Last, but not least, I was so excited to discover that we are now ranked as the #1 VA and Freelancer training program on eBiz Facts, a respected reviews site that thoroughly (and I mean thoroughly, so nerve-wracking haha) investigates the legitimacy of online programs and products. Invest in the best with the VEA ??.

?? Building Security: The Advantage of a Freelance or VA Career

You may have been there: the mere mention of working online as a freelancer and you're met with a chorus of well-meaning, but often misguided concern. The first concern is usually due to a perceived lack of security or stability compared to traditional employment.

In today's job market, folks are being laid off left, right, and center; there's little 'secure' about it. We're in times of mass layoffs, not just in tech, I'm talking about the whole traditional workforce. Here are some stats:

  • 61% of business leaders say their organizations will likely have layoffs in 2023
  • 57% of business leaders say layoffs are likely to estimate 30% or more of their workforce
  • 70% of companies are likely to implement a hiring freeze in 2023

Suppose it's your only source of income! You may find yourself in a bind, and the sudden scarcity may cause you to accept any job available, even if far from ideal.

I'm no financial adviser, but I think we can all agree it's smart to diversify your income. And guess what? That's exactly what VAs and freelancers do. ?? If you get laid off from your job, your income too is let go.

Now, in time you'll have sufficiently secured multiple income streams if working as a freelancer, with three to five clients on long-term retainers (most freelancers serve on average 3-4.5 clients per month). While clients can come and go, it's very rare that every client will drop simultaneously. If you lose one, you may still have 2 to 4 others that will comfortably sustain you while you seek income replacement.

The key to building security and stability in digital self-employment is focusing first on sustainability. Here are my top tips for creating a sustainable income:

?? Long-term retainers over short-term gigs. Short gigs are fun, especially if they pay well, but if you want the security of a fairly set amount every month, having multiple long-term clients on retainer will be your best bet.

?? Understand your capacity. Knowing your genuine limits regarding work and the kind of rates or clients you're willing to accept is step one in preventing burnout.

? Set boundaries. This can be a tough one, but crucial. Have clear boundaries for yourself and your clients about your working conditions and what's acceptable.

?? Time allocation for top-tier work-life balance. This is a blend of capacity and boundaries, but transparent time allocation, be it by day or hour, will help you set expectations without sacrificing your lifestyle or life priorities.

?? Master the art of saying no. The VA market is not oversaturated; it's very much in the growth phase with a wealth of opportunities available - some will be a better fit than others. Prepare yourself to decline offers that don't align.

These are advantages that VAs and freelancers have that not many tend to focus on. Multiple income streams help you build security and allow you to be more discerning in the clients you work with and the work you do, leaning into what lights you up! See the example below of a winning retainer client setup ????

If Josy decides to close her business or doesn't need your help anymore, you're still earning $6000 a month - that's a good place to be in while you tap into the power of your network to source replacement (if you choose to at all - maybe you enjoy the extra time!).

This is the kind of setup we help you work toward in the VEA. This is what many of our members have been able to achieve and we are here ?? for ?? it ??!

?? THREE SIMPLE WAYS TO LAND CLIENTS RIGHT AWAY!

I ran a masterclass yesterday (hello if you were there!) where I gave away three simple strategies that you can implement immediately to help you land great clients. These strategies work. And I'm going to give them to you to use now too.

They are:

  1. Your Existing Network. Even if you've never worked as a VA before, your existing network matters. The people around you are the people most likely to support your business at the start and can often be a source of your first VA income.
  2. Signpost method. You know you walk by a store and it'll have a sign saying 'open' or 'closed'? Well, this method is as simple as that. Go ahead and post on your LinkedIn, Fb profile Instagram etc, and tell people you're open for business and accepting new clients for x,y, and z. Super simple, most people never do it and it works!
  3. Research and refine. Be prepared to change what you're doing to land clients if it hasn't yielded results in 90 days. There's likely something amiss with your messaging, offer, or pricing. You can research by literally asking people in your target audience for feedback. After all, only they can tell you for sure. This can look like asking why they've said no to working with you and implementing on that feedback in order to get things right next time.

While this is merely a brief intro to these three methods, I talked about them in much more depth in the masterclass yesterday. So because you deserve to know how to fully implement them - here is the replay. It'll be available for a couple of days. I also walk through the VEA in more depth toward the end, so you can understand all the awesomeness you receive by joining us.

?? THAT'S A WRAP!

Thanks for reading friends! Doors to the VEA are open for the next week, I'll be in touch again soon with more freelance fabulousness and sharing case studies from many of our VEA graduates, so you can be sure to make an educated and informed decision about this investment in your career.

Feel free to hit reply with any questions! ??
