ENOUGH with your Excuses!

ENOUGH with your Excuses!

“Before you heal someone, ask them if they are willing to give up the things that make them sick.” - Hippocrates

I have to admit it. I sometimes find myself wallowing in self-pity as to why certain things either are or are not happening in my life the way I want them to. Then, I will hit the easy button and make myself feel better by coming up with excuses. And while justifying why things are the way they are is a way of trying to relieve myself from any accountability, I know that I shouldn't, and that I need to control what I can and stop?listening to my own BS!

Do you ever hear yourself complaining and making excuses for things you don't accomplish?

  1. I'm always tired!:?Go to bed earlier!?
  2. I'm out of shape and need to lose weight.:?Hire a trainer, start working out and eating healthier foods!
  3. My relationship with my significant other is challenging:?invest more time in it! Make 'date night' a priority!?
  4. I don't make enough money.:?Get a side gig, change jobs or get more education to advance to the next level in your current company!?
  5. I don''t have enough knowledge on certain topics:?Read books or listen to podcasts on subject matters of interest!?
  6. I don't have a enough time in the day to get everything done.:?Sit down the day before to prioritize tasks, block out your calendar and organize your day!?
  7. I lack motivation to make positive change.:?Join a group of high performers or hire a coach in order to be inspired to take action!?
  8. I hate my job.:?Get a new one!?
  9. I want to expand my social network.:?Join a local club!?
  10. I want to be more spiritual or connect more with my higher power.:?Go to Church!?

... AND THE LIST GOES ON.

Sometimes, we do have control over things in our lives.?Stop complaining and making excuses, and do something about it! It's UTY!?.

So right now, ask yourself, "What am I making excuses for in my life where I can actually exert some level of control, and make a difference for the better?"

l have a can do spirit. And from triathlon, law practice and investing, l learned that while l cannot control outcomes, l can control and focus on my input and work ethic. So, no excuses from avoiding my level of responsibility and effort in overcoming any obstacles to achieving my goals, whether athletic, professional or personal..
