Enough PhD’s Exploitation by Pakistani Universities, Thank you

I have been listening from a very long time from my teachers who have done their PhDs from foreign. They use to told us that never go for a PhD from Pakistan as it never completes in 3 years, usually took 5 plus years also you have to study the course again.

Well Last day I meet a PhD student/University Lecturer, she is currently teaching a university, she said never ever go for a PhD from Pakistan, she gave me many examples, and the top example was her self, as she said that universities are exploiting the students at max, she is enrolled and working for her PhD for 3 years and her proposal is not yet accepted by the university, as always the supervisor is changed or the supervisor leaves the university or supervisor is suggesting a research on totally different field. Meanwhile the university offers more than 12 courses which are totally a foolishness as we already had courses in masters and bachelors and this happens only in Pakistan, well universities don't usually have the faculty and due to which HEC Shuts Down many PhD Programs Due to Lack of Quality, and the university doesn't give a dam about what your research area is, so spending 5 to 7 years mentally touching your self and enrolling for PhD in Pakistan is totally a suicide.

So Universities are earning from bachelors and masters degrees and they spend zero budget on research purpose, As per the HEC policy, a supervisor may take only five students for a PhD programme at a time, but many faculties have been found supervising over 10 scholars each.

What I realise, and what I want to advise those who have done their MS and want to pursue a PhD, Please do a comprehensive research on the Higher Education Commission on the country, then you should have A to Z information about the facilities given by the university, their permanent faculty and then the research areas of that faculty, and past PhD Shutdowns by HEC of that university. It will be great if you find at least 10 enrolled PhD students of that university and interview them about their current experience.

After all this long journey the HEC or states do not assure your job, At present, a total of 720 PhD degree holders are jobless despite having hundreds of vacant posts in various universities. The problem is our universities do not want to spend on the faculty.

Be aware of the loopholes before you are trapped, KNOW YOUR RIGHT, don't start a huge journey without homework.
