THE ENLIGHTENED ENTERPRISE ACADEMY: A LIVE ONLINE DISCOVERY SESSION

Join us for a live online session on Monday 21st October, to learn more about the Enlightened Enterprise Academy, our plans, and what they might mean for you: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/81396136641?pwd=SNuiJ8f98lx9uwdyB7eobZe7yjQclM.1

Today all the institutions we depend on to run the systems we rely on seem to lurch from crisis to crisis, and fail to deliver what we expect of them. It is common to hear people say, "the system isn't working." They are referring to a system-of-systems: Health, energy, justice, transport, government etc.

People have long suggested the world is increasingly volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous. And the pandemic illustrated just how true that is. And just how interdependent and entangled all our systems are.

The climate crisis, our natural systems, international relations, global trade wars or disagreements, political polorization, mass migration, terrorism and conflict, and several other problems are many feeing daunted, depressed and in despair.

It may seem that we are just not equipped to deal with the challenges of the 21st century. There is a good reason for that. We aren't.

The way we see the world, and the systems we have developed live in it, are dominated by thinking which is centuries old. In the West in particular, the ideas of the 18th century Enlightenment, three centuries ago, still dominate.

The scientific breakthroughs and technological progress that the Enlightenment generated were a the drivers of massive improvements in the human condition. But some ideas were wrong, others have had unintended consequences, and many important factors were overlooked. The world we no live in is also very different. For all these reasons we need a New Enlightenment.

The Enlightenment, and the Industrial Revolution it sparked, were led by pioneers. Today we need 21st Century pioneers who are willing to take risks and innovate to fine solutions to today's challenges.

We are calling members of the Enlightened Enterprise Academy "Pioneers." If you agree we need more enlightened approaches to the way we think and do things, will you join us and help pioneer the necessary changes?

This will be well worth attending, I am looking forward to it. The Enlightened Enterprise Academy provides a fantastic opportunity for great dialogue on important topics, where challenging assumptions proves out the fact that there are more sustainable approaches to the way we do things.
