“Through their work – be it games, film or TV productions, interactive platforms or immersive experiences – they produce the original ideas, the entertaining content and the innovations that make this country truly world-leading in the creative industries”.
“Enlighten is a truly inspirational company which has grown rapidly over a short period of time to become an authoritative name in the world of augmented reality and e-learning.”
“Businesses like Enlighten demonstrate just what can be achieved with a little investment and a lot of talent. We need to give our creative heroes of the future the support they need.”
To be part of the 50 most interesting, most future-focused creative companies in the UK is an amazing achievement for us at Enlighten.
Last week we had a VIP invite to Facebook HQ in London (@FacebookLondon),where we joined industry leaders across games, film and technology for Creative England Live 2018 (#CElive). The ram packed event was hosted by Georgie Barrat from The Gadget Show and was full of inspiring keynotes from policy makers, fantastic tech demos and industry-leading panel discussions,. The day was all about celebrating the creativity and innovation driving the creative industries in England, and everyone involved did a fantastic job of inspiring the whole audience.
It was so nice to see some other familiar Staffordshire names on the @creativeengland #ce502018 list. We met previous winners, government officials and other CE50 companies and made some new inspirational creative contacts. The event brought so many innovative people together and we have already sparked new collaborations in our emerging AR sector.

So why did Creative England choose Enlighten to be included on their prestigious list ?
Augmented Reality is not just a gimmick or just an engaging emerging marketing tool. Enlighten are proud to harness AR’s capabilities for business’s & life changing experiences.
It has really been a whirlwind of a year for Enlighten, from the development of AR in the construction industry , Global Inclusivity AR campaigns (Women in Tech) & world firsts for AR Mental health support. After being runners up in the Digital category & Small business categories for Chamber of Commerce awards, and winning the Start Up Business of the year award for Staffordshire Chamber of Commerce, we haven’t stopped.
Our Co-Founder and woman in tech was a finalist in the Woman Who awards and is being mentored by one of the top 50 Women in technology to really make her mark in the world of emerging tech, particularly AR/VR, and to hopefully inspire young women change their view of the technology industry.
We have been awarded the Armed forces covenant Bronze award for employer engagement and have also been nominated for a silver award for our augmented reality campaign commemorating the Ice Maidens all female expedition crossing Antarctica.
Our involvement and engagement with International Women’s day this year saw our free Augmented Reality poster reach a global audience with a digital reach of over 5 million users. We built our campaign around CompTIA resources and the famous “Rosie the Riveter” icon who epitomises strong women working in male dominated areas. This, in turn, attracted the attention of the family of Naomi Fraley, the inspiration for “Rosie”, to utilise our designs for a memorial day throughout America. This will be repeated on March 25th annually as it has been declared “National Rosie Day” throughout the US.
As a result of our innovative AR products we were asked to assist in submitting a petition for an emerging technology community as part of CompTIA’s long term plans. This proposal was accepted and we were asked to sit on the executive council alongside representatives from global giants such as Microsoft, AT & T and FinTech among others.
Utilising augmented reality significantly reduces on our client’s carbon footprint even if that is not their prime objective. We help minimise printing and shipping costs along with environmental impact by enabling our clients to trigger 350 page product catalogues from a single postcard, a college prospectus from a postcard or a monthly magazine from a promotional keyring. Waste is further minimised as content can be updated in the back end to ensure the resources are always current and up to date.
Enlighten actively support the various causes mentioned previously such as mental health charities and the armed forces and we are committed to improving the lives of those in other countries. Enlighten sponsor the education of females in Ghana through Plan international and are collaborating with the South Korean government officials to reduce suicide rates.
Enlighten’s core aim to make lives better through technology and being recognised as part of the CE50 2018 is a fantastic business changing achievement.
Thank you very much Creative England for believing in Enlighten !!!
