Enhancing your spiritual power

#newdaynewchapter is a Blog narrative started on March 1, 2021 co-founded by Kishore Shintre & Sonia Bedi, to write a new chapter everyday for making "Life" and not just making a "living"
This is an easy question to answer - simply take more interest. That’s it. Anything we put our attention towards grows stronger and fills up our thought “space.” It really isn’t power. Spirituality becomes more of our way of life, our character. Thoughts and actions become more harmonious and we feel better about ourselves, all by taking a deeper interest. Simple is usually best! By taking leaps of faith. The logical brain is a constant obstacle to spiritual experience, identifying places where the risk and reward are both high enough to merit a leap of faith is very much a way to flip that script.
Fret not, the logical mind will still find a way to intercede and keep you from fully believing, even should God decide to fulfill your wishes. I’m reasonably certain God plans it that way. If you’re pursuing a proper spiritual journey, each leap of faith will feel as special, unique, and amazing as the last. If you’re not, then you’ll be like a junkie looking for your God “fix.” Resetting the mind after each successful leap seems like a dumb thing to do. Why wipe out momentum? But the mechanics of personality discovery and growth demand it. You need to give all of yourself to God, not just the parts that have realized Him.
Find your rhythm. When you feel it’s time for a major change, move into the new existence without hesitation or remorse. Trust in God to protect and help. The challenges will be interesting and worthwhile on their own. Why do you want more power? Would you heal the sick, raise the dead and cast out devils? Would you do good? Jesus did good. Always. And He is the Original Power, and all powers are subject to Him. He is the Uncreated, Eternal One. HE is not limited in any way, and He created all things, “visible and invisible”. He offers us a new spirit and a new heart, one that wants to do good and one “not of fear and timidity, but of power, love and a sound (disciplined) mind”. Every good gift and blessing comes to us from the Father, through His Son, Christ, by His Eternal Spirit of Regeneration. He is for us, and He makes all things possible.
Relax and allow your instinctive thoughts to inspire you. Jot them down. Be aware of your gut feeling. What’s it telling you? What’s your intuition telling you that you need to do? Sitting quietly and softly daydreaming you can receive thoughts that invite you to take action. Imagine for a moment that a thought flies through your mind about applying for that job you recently saw advertised. It was so much the type of job you’d enjoy, but you dismissed the idea because it involved some different training and you thought you might be too old for it.
But the thoughts are reminding you about it now, and that’s because your soul is guiding you to act on it. Your gut feeling is that it would be so right for you. It feels good, and it would be so much more rewarding than where you work now. So don’t wait. Act on it. But you still ponder it, and really you’ve almost persuaded yourself that you’re going to apply, but just read it up again and check! Danger point! Your brain butts in and says ‘Why change where you are now? You know the job. You may fail! You may make a fool of yourself.’

Your brain’s logic thinks it knows how able you are. It wants to keep you in your comfort zone. These are your second thoughts, and if you give in to them you’ll lose your opportunity to follow your preplanned journey, and achieve the goals you set yourself in this life. So don’t wait for second thoughts to dissuade you from your journey. Act on your instincts and gut feeling, and empower your life, because as you do, God empowers you to achieve your goals and strengthens you for the next stage of the journey.
The reward is there and it can make you very ambitious, but remember that part of your development depends on you helping in some way within the world. People, animals and the planet itself all need our help, and what we do for others helps us too on our journey. So remember to go with what your senses feel is right, and act with determination. It’ll work. God has no mind as we know it. There is no judging, blaming God. God also has no power because it would mean that God could lose power.
We can’t really grasp what it is except to say that God creates mind and power but does not possess them. This is what makes God - God. There is no “other”. So, who has the power? “God creates and human beings are in charge of evolution.” So, it is we ourselves, the recipients of a mind, that have the power, though in a small degree. A real Master, has the power to a much greater degree. Because we have a mind, we have the power to choose, the power of free will, the power to love, the power to create, the power to hate, the power to destroy, the power to end the world and the power to redeem it.
With all that power, you would think we would have learned by now how to make the world an even more beautiful place. You said you want spiritual power from God? What are you doing with the power you already have? The fundamental illusion is that we’re waiting for salvation. We have a thousand reasons! Most of them describe how terrible today is. How could we be happy today? This perspective seems so sensible. But when we live like this, we chase a life that’s always up ahead. Someday, we’ll get to heaven and mistake it for the waiting room. The most powerful practice targets this illusion: It’s the practice of keeping your attention in the now. Consider now to be the moment you’ve been waiting for. Try it, and see what happens. Cheers!
