What if I could give you practical steps to sharpen your intuitive skills amidst a busy schedule?
Would that help you?
I know just how easy it is as a busy entrepreneur to get caught up in daily tasks and decisions, it rarely leaves room for very much, let alone time to connect with your intuition.
Why is this important you may ask?
Our intuition is not only a tool that can help you make quicker, more aligned choices in both business and life; its one of the most important.
In this quick article, I aim to enhance your intuition, even with a packed schedule by offering four (4) useful tips that you can take with you. Here we go!
#1 | Begin Your Day with "Intentional" Stillness (5-7 mins max)
Start to make some room in your morning schedule for five to seven minutes of quiet reflection or meditation. I am not asking you to wake up super early or rearrange your schedule but to make room. No, this isn’t about sitting for hours in silence which I covered in one of my recent newsletters found HERE — it’s about giving your mind space to breathe before the demands of the day take reign over you. This is a beautiful opportunity to check in with yourself and ask:
What feels right for today?
Let me explain WHY this works in a nutshell. This simple practice actually clears mental clutter, calms our "monkey brain" and as a result, enhances your ability to listen to your intuitive guidance throughout the entire day. You can hear the whispers when there is no blockages.
#2 | Trust Your First Thought
As a busy entrepreneur, many of us are faced with countless decisions throughout the entire day. One of the most simplest techniques that we can utilize to enhance our intuition is to simply start trusting our initial gut reaction; especially for smaller decisions. This is where we PAUSE and take notice your first thought or feeling before diving into analysis. This is also why self awareness is super important.
Let me explain WHY this works in a nutshell. often, our first instinct pulls from our subconscious, this is where it has synthesized our past experiences and delivers us these subtle cues faster than rational analysis does. Now that you know that, learning to trust this is key. This takes practice.
#3 | Reflect on Your Wins and Misses
As the day winds down, I encourage you to spend anywhere from 5-10 minutes solely reflecting on the decisions you made, this includes both big decisions and the smaller ones. You are encouraged to use a journal for this. Ask yourself:
When did I trust my gut?
Did it lead to a good outcome?
Over time with practice and consistency, this will help you to build confidence in your intuitive abilities; it takes time like going to a gym to see results.
Let me explain WHY this works in a nutshell. Journaling is amazing for many things but for this example, it helps you identify patterns in your intuitive hits and misses which reinforces your innate ability to rely on your gut. Journaling is underrated in leadership but is a great way to see change and find the path to it.
#4 | Mini Meditation Between Tasks
Taking mini-resets is important so before transitioning between tasks or meetings, I want you to close your eyes and then take three to five deep breaths; I'm referring to the belly breaths. Feel your lungs and stomach expand. This is a fast and wonderful way to stay connected to your intuition, even when the day is slammed with "to do's" and deadlines.
Let me explain WHY this works in a nutshell. Simply, it grounds you in the present moment which many of us never sit in which makes it easier to hear those whispers, to hear your intuition amidst the noise and chaos of our loud and demanding world of business.
Final Thoughts for you
If there is one thing that I hope you take away from this quick article, it is that building and refining your intuition doesn’t require much. It doesn't require hours and hours of free time, it takes practice, consistency and trust.
These micro-practices I have shared today can fit into any entrepreneur’s day!
They unequivocally will yield noticeable results in decision-making and create better leadership skills. I encourage you to implement at least one into your calendar today moving forward. Once you have fine tuned it and feel comfortable, move to the next.
