Enhancing Local Economic Sustainability, Lapis Bogor Sangkuriang Signs MoU with the Bogor City Government for Tourism and SME Development

Bogor, October 20, 2023 — Continuing their commitment to promote local wisdom through the enhancement of the economic ecosystem, Lapis Bogor Sangkuriang, a product of PT Agrinesia Raya, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Bogor City Government. In this collaboration, both parties will work together to support the facilitation of tourism activities and empower the development of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Bogor.

Lapis Bogor Sangkuriang, a signature Bogor souvenir born and bred in this city, is dedicated to making a positive contribution to the local community. This aligns with the vision of Bogor City Government to advance the local economy and tourism development. Together, they aim to support innovative tourism activities, provide unique experiences for residents and tourists, and promote products made from taro, such as Lapis Bogor Sangkuriang, as attractions and expressions of Bogor's local wisdom.

Furthermore, this collaboration also focuses on empowering and developing SMEs in Bogor. In a joint effort to support SME development, the Bogor City Government has initiated programs for SME enhancement, allowing SME products to be curated and made available in Lapis Bogor Sangkuriang stores. This step is expected to provide a significant boost to the growth of local SMEs and the community-level economy.

Mayor of Bogor, Bima Arya Sugiarto, welcomes the collaboration with Lapis Bogor Sangkuriang. During the MoU signing event on Friday (20/10) at the Bogor City Hall, Bima Arya stated, "Changes are happening faster now. Therefore, we must work together with SMEs to level up, with the support of training programs involving industries like Lapis Bogor Sangkuriang."

After the recent MoU signing with IPB to empower the 'upstream' part, which is the taro farmers, Lapis Bogor Sangkuriang is now partnering with the support of the Bogor City Government to develop the 'downstream' part, involving the community and SMEs."
