This is a great article, but understanding emotional intelligence and possessing it are two different things. A key component of self-awareness is the development of our sense of how we feel inside -- our interceptive sensory system. Too often, this gets shut down in life, limiting and influencing all of our sensory systems and perceptions. I suggest that perception management is critical to emotion management for that very reason.
