ENHANCING E-SKILLS TO BOOST OUTPUT - SOURCE - PARTNER AND TALENT LEADER IN EY.

The world of work as we know is evolving. With the advent of disruptive technologies such as robotics, Artificial Intelligence, the automation of jobs is increasingly becoming a popular topic of board room discussions. The nature of jobs, the number of jobs, and by whom will these be carried out are quite clearly on the minds of the C - Suite Executives and future professionals alike. (What can we do to navigate this uncertainity.) How can both Organizations and Individuals adapt to the changing World of Work.

Recent EY report states that Indian Freelance workers hold a 24% share of the Global Online Gig Economy.It also mentions India has been the third largest online labour market.

97% of the Industry respondents view reskilling, their current workforce as a key initiative to be prepared for the change due to the impact of Primary forces such as Globalization, Demographics, and Industry 4.0.

Gig Economy is fast catching on as a workforce trend. In today's digital savvy world, a lot of work can be done from anywhere anytime. The Gig model empowers Organizations, with the ability to hire, some one with a specialized skill set for the duration of the Project that requires it. Additionally Organizations can consider sharing Freelance opportunities with Experts, who were earlier presenting a cost constraint. Contingent workers also help employers control labour costs and save on resources such as Office space, and even training.

I am certain we will see more and more businesses tapping into a pool of contractual resources . Introduction of automation driven technology has led to an increase in the efficiency and higher productivity.
