?? As climate change intensifies, the risk of flooding is increasing, leading to more frequent and severe flood events. These natural disasters not only cause significant economic losses but also threaten lives and critical infrastructures. According to 世界银行 , flooding affects more than 250 million people worldwide each year, with damages exceeding $40 billion.

?? vorteX-io , a climate tech company based in Toulouse, leverages advanced remote sensing technology and artificial intelligence to provide accurate and timely flood risk assessments. This innovation enables governments, businesses, and communities to make informed decisions to protect lives and assets. Winner of the 2023 EIC Accelerator program, vorteX-io aims to deploy 3,000 stations across Europe by 2026 to model major river basins.

?? VorteX-io has successfully secured EUR 2.9 Mln in a round led by Banque des Territoires and MAIF Impact alongside AFI Ventures and SpaceFounders France. These new funds will be utilized to enhance their technological capabilities, expand their market reach, and develop new applications for their flood risk analysis tools. VorteX-io has already received a EUR 2.5 Mln grant from the @European Innovation Council for a project aimed at creating the first European real-time hydrological forecasting service. By the end of 2024, 1,000 micro-stations will have been deployed in France and Croatia.
