To transform automotive paint processes, 阿西布朗勃法瑞公司(ABB) introduced the RB 1000i-S paint atomizer. Compared to its predecessor, the RB 1000i, the new paint atomizer put on top of the ABB robot may dramatically reduce paint waste by at least 30% and carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, while also improving transfer efficiency by up to 10%. Significant cost and efficiency advantages also have the potential to result in large financial savings.
"Big automakers have pledged to have carbon-neutral factories by 2035, and they are doing everything in their power to meet these goals," said Marc Segura, President of ABB's Robotics Division. "ABB is always creating new products and services to assist businesses in meeting their sustainability goals. One example of how ABB is diversifying its product line to help handle upcoming difficulties is the recently released RB 1000i-S.
By decreasing paint waste, the RB 1000i-S paint atomizer lowers CO2 and volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions in automotive paint shops. It also improves plant energy efficiency by facilitating a more efficient paint process.
Significant cost savings are also possible. For instance, if a business produces 200,000 automobiles per factory each year and uses 2.5 liters of paint solvent for?each car, the RB 1000i-S paint atomizer's enhanced transfer efficiency can help save 50,000 liters of paint per factory. This amounts to a direct cash savings of around?USD 500,000.
Customers have two options, according to ABB: they may improve their current RB 1000i by changing important parts like the bell cup and shape air nozzle, or they can get the new RB 1000i-S atomizer with a new paint robot. By extending the life of the current paint atomizer, the service upgrade kit promotes the circular economy, improves product longevity, and further reduces waste.
