Xavier Parrish, PE, LEED AP, PMP - Engineering Lead

How long have you been an engineer and from where did you graduate?

I graduated from North Carolina A&T State University in 2016 and attained my PE License in early 2019. 

What attracted you to the engineering field?

My father was a Civil Engineer, so I suppose it was already coded in my DNA. The problem-solving and design aspects have always intrigued me from an early age.

What do you enjoy most about the work you do?

I enjoy being able to present solutions that enhance and improve our client’s way of life through engineering design. There are always multiple ways to accomplish an outcome, and I really enjoy exploring literature and utilizing innovation to give the most optimal product for our customers, and ultimately society. 

What advice would you give to someone considering becoming an engineer?

Don’t be afraid to fail and don’t be scared to ask questions. Those are extremely necessary to enhance and increase knowledge in this industry. Also, TAKE THE FE EXAM AS EARLY AS YOU CAN! Trust me on this.
