Last year an amazing team at Capgemini Engineering R&I and the Toulouse Engineering Center (TEC) worked on several engineering know-how projects in vertical lift aircraft. Ultimately our goal was to explore the digital workflows and toolchains that will support electric vertical take off and landing stakeholders achieve design type certification to conform to Means Of Compliance provided by regulatory bodies.
This is a look back at some of the work results (big and small).
-------------------
This particular project named 3DEX sought to cover all the processes of development of a real eVTOL prototype (1/5 scale) with a focus on operational and V&V activities using 3DEXPERIENCE. That includes looking at ways of working and an MBSE approach covering topics such as: traceability, 3D design mock-up, manufacturing and simulation (flight laws algorithms), prototype design thinking, subscale prototype and architecture trade-off. For details--we need the experts at the bottom of this article.
The big picture..

2 年Love this! Very well and concisely written! So coool! I would really love this to take of ?? (pun intended)… before I went into consulting I wanted to be a pilot, now i could combine it with the travels I do?? thanks for the update love the cad video!

2 年I wonder if truly unconstrained generative design might have come up with a totally novel design?
