I teased in last week's newsletter some tips on how to get over the "I don't know what to post" dilemma, so here's what I spoke about yesterday:
Get a notepad and write the following five words > First, Last, Best, Worst, Weirdest.
Next, find some topics to talk about – Relationships, Jobs, Interviews, Projects, or something specific to your niche. This should produce lots of stories that are unique to you and engaging to your audience.
Pick the stories you think resonate with your audience the most and post them.
Want to take it a step further? Think about how you're posting it. 1 story can become 10's of pieces of content.
Change the format of each post. ie just text, text + image, video, carousels, the list goes on.
Then you've got options to change the thumbnails, add subtitles, change the fonts, change your calls to action, re-record in a different setting...
AND then use all the social channels available to you.

2. Challenges faced using Social Media.
I told a story of losing a potential customer because "my tone of voice doesn't suit their brand". Yep, that one hurt.
But the good story that come from it is that my customers rallied round. In particular Sarah Black-Smith who messaged to say "We bought into Engineers Insight before it existed. We bought in because of you."
3. The content we put out lives online forever.
If you're looking to progress in your career - PDF CV's are just an entry point.
Your actual CV now lives online.
It's the articles you write, videos you create and stories you tell that your future employer is looking at.
Grace Andrews (Built The Diary Of A CEO from 5K to 7M followers) said on the "Creator Playbooks" podcast, she's not interviewing the people sending in bullet point documents. "If you're set on a job that genuinely has the power to save your life... Set yourself apart from the masses who are applying in the traditional way. "If you're looking to sell a product or a service - You need to build trust.
People need to know who they're buying from. Nike and Uber have built global brands that you no longer feel sold by.
They've created communities and experiences, and you feel part of their brand.
You need to offer your future customers the same.
