What have we been up to?

Some cool new marketing bits arrived this week:

1. New pull up banner, because I realised a month before an exhibition that our current backdrop is too big for the stand. ????♂?

2. A5 Flyers that will be on everyone's seats at Engineering & Manufacturing Awards as well as swag bags at EMCON Engineering & Manufacturing Show .

We announced the parterships with Wynne Consulting & CV Technical LTD last week and was hoping we'd have launched our jobs tab. However, timing wasn't right. App stores hadn't approved in time. People were going on holiday. My co-founder is currently on holiday and I'm still sending him print screens of bugs asking him to get off the sun lounger and try to fix them ??.

The jobs tab is live right now. You can apply for jobs by attaching your CV from your Files, when you click the green "Apply Now" button. Very straight forward.

However, from next week, we'll be marketing Engineers Insight to over 100K engineers through the Wynne and CVT databases to say "This is now the only way you can keep up to date with our latest jobs".

You can see why I've been excited/stressed about getting this right! ??

I had a great catch up with Jeremy Whittingham on Tuesday to look at being a guest on the Advanced Engineering UK podcast. Maybe even some co-host opportunities in the future.

Following the podcast theme, I filmed for an episode of Insights4Mfg Podcast in Partnership with Automate UK on Wednesday, with host Jeff Beacham . We discussed Engineers Insight, the growing pains of startups, UK manufacturing and of course skills shortages.

On Wednesday I had a Teams call with Manveer Johal from Walsall College to discuss T-Levels and whether EI would be a suitable placement for a student. Especially roles like Media and Business Admin. As we begin to scale, I find I'm writing more on my to-do list than managing to cross off. But we don't have the finance to employ someone full time. Perhaps this is a good way to expand the business, free up some of my time and give some exposure to students about life in the workplace.

Eleanor Baker introduced me and Sarah Black-Smith to Cassandra Campbell from Paradise Computing who are holding a Webinar to discuss the need for diversity in manufacturing and how this can boost innovation and skills in the industry. Yesterday I had an hour or so with Tim Robertson , founder of The Field Engineer , who created a community of engineers from all around the world to connect and discuss projects, life, jobs etc. If you've not come across it - follow the LI page and check out the website to sign up > https://thefieldengineer.com/

Finally managed to get international jet-setter, Paul Larking IEng, MIMMM on a Teams call this morning to talk EI and 3M, to see if there's a way to get the 3M engineers on board and making use of the app, and whether 3M would benefit from posting their products into the app.

Closed today off with being asked by James Burke to be the MEPCA "Manufacturing Champion of the Month" for September. Very honoured.
